🏀We ended up losing our game this morning to a team from Atlanta that plays on Adidas’s upper level circuit. It was a tight game the whole first half, but they eventually wore us down in the second half. They played full court man the entire game and were very physical on both ends of the court. Despite the lopsided loss, it was a really really good showing for the girls against teams from the South that we don’t normally see. 4-1 on the weekend and top 4 out of 60+ teams! It was really fun to see our team from Western MD compete at such a high level on a stage like that. The girls represented themselves really well all weekend 👏🏼

🏀We beat a team from Jacksonville, Florida in a NAIL BITER to finish the day! 45-43.👏🏻We got off to an awful start and went down double digits in the first 3 minutes. It took us most of the first half to chip away at their lead, but we eventually brought it back to a tie game going into the half. We maintained a 4-6 point lead most of the second half, but it turned into a hard fought one possession game in the last 3 minutes. It ended up being a really fun game that would’ve made us better regardless of the outcome. We’re down to the Final 4!! Next game is tomorrow at 11 am!

🏀We won our first game of the day! Ended up being a great game. It was a tie game at the half. We went up early in the second and held the lead until the other team hit three 3’s in a row and quickly went up 7 with 3 minutes to play. The girls played their best basketball late and ended the game on a 14-0 run! We’re down to the Elite 8!! Next game is at 5:45 🏀

🏀The second game ended up being an easier game than the first. We got off to a hot start and went up 16-0 in the first 4 minutes. The girls shot it incredibly well from 3! The final was 52-26.

🏀We’re down to the final 16 teams. Our next one will be tomorrow at 2:30 against a team from Winston-Salem, NC.

🏀Our older girls won our first game in Greensboro this afternoon! They beat a very solid team from Asheville, NC. It was probably our best all around performance of the spring thus far. The ball moved really well on offense and we got a ton of really good looks, our defense was solid, and we did a really good job of controlling the boards.

🏀We play our second game of the day at 8:45 this evening. The field of 60 is down to 30. Survive and advance!

🏀👏🏻 We wrapped up an awesome weekend of basketball yesterday evening with our older girls winning the 17U division🏆! Ashley’s younger girls lost a nail biter in their morning game, but they continue to make noticeable progress and get more and more competitive.

🏀Thank you to all of the participating teams for making it such a great weekend of basketball! And thank you to all of our local fans that made it a priority to come out and support so many local athletes.

🏀Our older girls turn right back around and head to Greensboro, NC on Thursday for “The Beast of the East” where they’ll compete against 60+ other 17U teams during the second NCAA Live recruiting weekend of the spring. Our younger Squad girls have a couple weekends off before going to Harrisonburg at the end of May.

🏀We had another great day of basketball at the CARC! Our older girls handily won their game yesterday morning and will play at 3 and 5 today. The 5 o’clock game being the championship game.

🏀Ashley’s group lost a closer game yesterday afternoon to a team from Pittsburgh. They will play this morning at 10 am, and if they win that one, they will play again at 2 pm. Thanks to all who have come out to support all our local athletes thus far!

🏀Opening night of our Hoop Fest is in the books! Our older girls won their game this evening 44-22! Ashley’s younger girls lost a super tight game 28-24 that came down to some FT’s in the last minute.

🏀Our older girls will kick off tomorrow’s slate of games at 8 am! Ashley’s crew will play tomorrow evening at 5 pm.

🏀 We kick off our 5th annual Deep Creek Hoop Fest this evening at 6 pm! Ashley’s younger Squad girls play this evening at 6, and our older Squad girls play immediately after at 7. There will also be a handful of other local teams playing this evening. We hope to see you at the CARC at some point this weekend!
