🦖⛏️ Dino Discovery Day! ⛏️🦖
Our little paleontologists had an amazing time digging for dinosaur bones! With tools and lots of curiosity, the preschoolers carefully excavated hidden fossils and learned about dinosaurs that roamed the Earth millions of years ago.

This hands-on activity encouraged exploration, teamwork, problem-solving, and imaginative play while making learning fun and exciting. The smiles on their faces when they uncovered a "dinosaur bone" were priceless!

Who knows? We may have a few future scientists in our class! 🦕💚

💦 Water Day Fun at Kidspiration ! ☀️

Water Day is one of the most exciting days of the week! From splashing in water tables to playing with sprinklers and pouring water between cups, children have endless opportunities to explore, laugh, and learn.

But Water Day is more than just fun—it supports important developmental skills:

🌊 Builds Fine Motor Skills
Scooping, pouring, squeezing, and spraying help strengthen the small muscles in children's hands and fingers.

🧠 Encourages Learning Through Play
Children discover concepts like floating and sinking, measuring, cause and effect, and problem-solving while they play.

🤝 Promotes Social Skills
Water activities encourage sharing, taking turns, communicating, and working together with friends.

🏃 Supports Physical Development
Running through sprinklers, carrying buckets, and participating in water games help develop coordination and gross motor skills.

🎨 Inspires Creativity and Imagination
Water play becomes a car wash, an ocean adventure, a science experiment, or whatever children imagine it to be!

😊 Provides Sensory Exploration
The feel, movement, temperature, and sound of water create rich sensory experiences that support brain development.

Water Day reminds us that some of the best learning happens when children are having fun. Through play, exploration, and laughter, preschoolers build skills that support their growth in every area of development.

Why De-escalation Matters in Preschool 🌱
Big feelings can show up in small people. When a child is overwhelmed, frustrated, or upset, they’re not looking for a lecture—they need support to regain a sense of safety and control.
De-escalation is the process of helping a child move from a heightened emotional state back to a calm, regulated one. It might look like:
✅ Speaking in a calm, steady voice
✅ Giving the child space when needed
✅ Acknowledging their feelings without judgment
✅ Offering simple choices
✅ Modeling self-regulation
For preschool teachers, de-escalation is essential because it:
💛 Creates a safe and supportive learning environment
💛 Strengthens trust and relationships with children
💛 Reduces challenging behaviors over time
💛 Teaches children healthy emotional regulation skills
💛 Helps children feel seen, heard, and understood

Last week we celebrated the last day of fieldwork for our amazing COTA student after 8 wonderful weeks at Kidspiration Pediatric Therapy Services! 💙✨

We are so thankful for the dedication, compassion, creativity, and hard work she brought to our clinic each day. Our kiddos loved working with her, and we loved watching her grow in confidence and skill throughout her rotation.
