We would like to welcome Elizabeth Kuster as the new Health Sciences Instructor at OMTC. Mrs. Kuster graduated from Cabool High School before earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Missouri State University. She is a Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in emergency medicine, community health, and health education. Throughout her nursing career, she has been passionate about educating others, promoting wellness, and serving her rural community. Mrs. Kuster is excited to share her passion for healthcare with the next generation as the Health Sciences Instructor at Ozark Mountain Technical Center. She believes in preparing students not only with the knowledge and technical skills needed to succeed in healthcare but also with the compassion, professionalism, and confidence to make a difference in the lives of others. Outside the classroom, she and her husband are raising their son, Kleveland, and enjoy spending time outdoors, hunting, going to the lake, and serving in their church. She feels incredibly blessed to combine her love of nursing, teaching, faith, and family while helping students discover meaningful careers in healthcare

Ozark Mountain Technical Center is accepting applications for a Health Sciences Instructor for the 2026-2027 school year. This position will require the candidate to obtain a Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education teaching certificate as well as a CNA Instructor certificate from the Department of Health and Senior Services. Qualifications include: registered nurse (RN) license in Missouri, 5000 hours of work experience in the nursing field in the past ten years, and one year experience in the provision of LTC Facility services within the last five years. Duties will include but are not limited to: develop/implement lesson plans, schedule clinical rotations, demonstrate and assist students in the skills lab and during direct patient care at clinical facilities, and build strong relationships with postsecondary and industry partners. The candidate will be expected to be active in the HOSA organization including but not limited to fundraising, leadership events, competitions, and community service. Additional coursework will be required to obtain DESE teacher certification. On Saturday, May 2nd, four students competed at the Industrial Technology State Contest held at Lake of the Ozarks. Burley Forbes and Skyler Oliphant both took first place in their wood turning groups. Cayden Greenwood and Collin Wake both received one ratings for their projects.

Our College and Career Advisor, Jessica Keeling, hosted our 4th Annual Decision Day sponsored by the rootED Missouri Alliance. rootED places dedicated college and career advisors in rural high schools to work with all seniors to define and plan their futures, whether through a college degree, career training, workforce, or military service. We are so excited to be able to celebrate the decisions these seniors have made for their future!
