Today, we want to give a very special shoutout to someone who takes care of our students and staff with so much love and compassion every single day… our amazing school nurse, Nurse Joy! ❤️
From bandaids and ice packs to comforting worried students, managing medications, checking temperatures, and being a calm presence during tough moments, Nurse Joy does it all with kindness and patience. She is such an important part of Mountain City Elementary, and we are incredibly thankful for the care she gives our Jr. Longhorns each day.
Thank you, Nurse Joy, for the countless ways you support our school family. MCE is a better place because of you! ❤️🤍

🏅 On Monday evening, we had the honor of recognizing an outstanding group of Mountain City Elementary 6th grade students at the Presidential Academic Excellence Award ceremony. 🏅
These students earned this recognition by scoring in a high percentile nationally and maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or higher. This accomplishment reflects years of hard work, dedication, perseverance, and commitment to academic excellence.
We are incredibly proud of these students and the example they set for others through their determination and achievement. As they prepare to leave MCE, they are truly Living the Longhorn Legacy and representing our school in the very best way. ❤️🤍
Please help us congratulate these amazing students on this well deserved honor! 🎉📚✨
This is the last day for 21st Century! All library books are due back to the library! If you have lost any library books those will need to be paid for by next Friday at the latest!

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week to the incredible teachers of Mountain City Elementary! ❤️🤍
This week, and truly every week, we celebrate the people who make MCE such a special place for our students. Our teachers pour their hearts into this school every single day through the lessons they teach, the encouragement they give, the relationships they build, and the love they show our kids.
The work is not always easy, and many people will never fully understand the amount of time, energy, patience, and care that goes into being a teacher. But our staff continues to show up, give their best, and make a difference for students day after day.
We are so thankful for each member of our teaching staff and the impact they make on the lives of our Jr. Longhorns. Thank you for all you do to help our students learn, grow, and succeed.
MCE is better because of you. ❤️
We are still in need of snack cakes 2liters and individual wrapped snacks for next week 😁
Good morning, sixth grade families!
Just a few last-minute reminders for our Dollywood trip tomorrow!
If your child is riding the bus, please meet us in the front parking lot near the new gym entrance at 6:30 a.m. Students will have time to use the restroom before we load the bus. We’ll also stop about halfway there for a quick restroom break and snack.
Students are welcome to bring a small snack and drink (no glass containers, please). Since we won’t be at the rest stop long, we recommend packing something small.
Students will be responsible for carrying their belongings throughout the park, so it’s best to pack light and bring only what’s needed. We’ll leave the parking lot at 6:45 a.m. sharp and won’t be able to wait for late arrivals.
If you’re driving separately, we plan to arrive when the park opens at 10:00 a.m. We’ll enter from the bus parking lot through the side gate to the left of the main entrance. If you’re chaperoning, you will need to enter through the main entrance and then meet us there. We’ll be near the stroller/ECV rental area on the far left side of the main entrance.
We will meet for a quick group photo at 4:45 p.m. at the front entrance of the park. If you would like your child to be in the photo, please meet us there at that time. Students riding the bus back will also need to meet us then, as we will load the bus after the photo.
Thank you so much to everyone who volunteered to chaperone—we really appreciate your help in making this trip possible! We’re excited for a fun day filled with lots of great memories!
No school tomorrow May 5th!!
6th Grade parents that have purchased Dollywood tickets don’t forget to stop by the office and pick those up! This is for adult tickets and students riding with parents!
