New Vision Theatre Company [NVTC] is a 501 [c] [3] non-profit organization, founded in 2004, with a small active Board of Directors and supporters who seek to establish a permanent live performance facility in Dana Point: Vivant Theatre. Recognizing an abundance of creative talent in the Dana Point and neighboring communities, NVTC will provide the time and space, and creative management, for prod
uctions that appeal to traditional theater-goers, those interested in alternative theater, and theater students, and will utilize local talent.
* Original plays and revivals, both dramatic and musical
* Intimate musical concerts, from classical to avant garde.
* Poetry and spoken word events.
* Educational programs and on-going theater classes for youth and adults. Founders John and Yolanda Kalb, long-time residents of Capistrano Beach, together have 50+ years of experience producing and promoting theater productions, talking word and music events, and teaching theater skills. Most recently, they served as the production company for the successful New Vision Theatre in Oceanside and they are members of the Board of the Oceanside Film Festival. NVTC intends to collaborate with existing theater groups to create a more expansive theater community in the region, as well as a new destination for theater lovers. The organization’s mission is to enhance and enrich the lives of the residents of Dana Point and neighboring communities by creating a forum for live theater, music and cultural performances. NVTC, in conjunction with City of Dana Point’s Elephant Parade, will produce “Red, White and Blue” a series of vignettes linking the arts to the color scheme, based on plays about artists Mark Rothko and Picasso, and art collectors.
