🌟 Summer Learning Spotlight! 🌟
School is just around the corner, but our students never stop exploring, growing, and chasing new learning adventures — even in the summer months. Today we’re proud to highlight Jasmyne Tingler, who spent part of her summer representing Calhoun County at the Governor’s School of Tourism (GST).
The GST students travel West Virginia for a 10‑day experience touring our state, learning about the tourism and hospitality industries through hands‑on activities, and exploring career pathways in one of WV’s fastest‑growing fields.
Jasmyne shared that the experience was unforgettable:
“GST was a memorable experience for me because I had the opportunity to try new things, make new friends, and learn more about West Virginia. My favorite experiences were whitewater rafting, staying in the haunted Blennerhassett Hotel, and visiting historic Bramwell, WV. I will never forget the memorable experiences I was able to have and the friends that I was able to make while having those experiences. I would like to thank everyone who helped make this possible for me, and I would highly recommend GST to any student in 9th or 10th grade.”
We are so proud of Jasmyne for embracing new challenges, representing our community, and showing what it means to be a lifelong learner. 💛📚
Stay tuned — we’ll be sharing more summer learning highlights from our amazing students!
