We have just sent out an email with bus stops and times. These times might change slightly as we are still getting registrations for busing. I will be sending out another email on Thursday. Please give the drivers and students a chance to get settled into the new year.

Just FYI, we are planning on sending out an email to primary contacts with busing information by next Tuesday. For the first two weeks, understand these times will likely fluctuate as everyone settles in to the routes so please have your students ready 5 to 10 minutes early until everyone is used to the schedules. We ask for your patience and cooperation as everyone gets back into the flow. We are looking forward to getting back to the task of transporting your students.

Due to retirement, Mt Zion schools has some openings for school bus drivers starting the 25 – 26 school year. Our drivers start at $20.50 per hour with guaranteed 4 hours per school day. We offer sick time, personal time and some paid holidays. Don’t have a CDL? We will train you and pay for it. All applicants must be 21 and pass a physical, drug screen, TB test and background check. If this is something that interests you, please stop by 455 Elm St. (white building next to the football field) and fill out an application or call 217-864-5233. Mt Zion Schools Transportation Open House

Many people think that driving a school bus is a scary thing and we get it. It’s not a normal mode of transportation. Here is your chance to get questions answered and see a school bus up close.
On Thursday, May 22nd, We will have an open house at the transportation department offices from 5:00 to 6:00. The Transportation Director will be there along with a few drivers to answer any questions you might have.

Who would make a good driver?

Anyone who has a heart for kids, needs extra money, a retiree who just needs something to do, or even that mom or dad who has kids in school and wants a part time job that follows their kids schedule.
So come say hi and get your questions answered and see if this just might be a good fit for you. Hope to see you there.
