Our Vice President, Grace Gumm, attended Institute for Future Agricultural Leaders (IFAL) last week.

Here is a quote from Grace “IFAL was such an amazing time. I made so many great friends that will last beyond IFAL. I got to meet so many amazing people that are involved at the University of Kentucky and talk with some students at the networking dinner. I had the opportunity to visit the UK Horticultural research farm and the Sheep Unit. We also went to Activate games and to the Asbury Ropes Course. I had lots of fun during the Barn Yard Olympics. We did a discussion meet and had an etiquette dinner. In the short time I got to spend there I had learned so much and will be forever grateful for this opportunity. It was truly one of my best experiences.”

We are so proud of Grace for taking advantage of this opportunity! We would like to thank Bullitt County Farm Bureau for making this opportunity possible for Grace and Landon this summer.

The Bullitt East Agriculture program had the opportunity to grow the plants for Main Street in Mount Washington! Our Horticulture students and FFA members grew, designed, and planted the hanging baskets and ground planters throughout the city.

We are so thankful to have been given this opportunity by the city. Projects like this allow our students to apply their skills in a real-world setting while taking even more pride in their community ⭐️💙

We were excited to welcome members of the Bullitt East FFA to Old Mill as they partnered with our 4th grade students for a meaningful, real-world learning experience!

Our students took on the role of young scientists, diving into mystery plant and animal cases. They worked to identify problems related to structures and survival, then developed well-thought-out solutions to address each situation.

With the support and presence of our FFA guests, students had the opportunity to share their thinking, explain their reasoning, and present their plans to an authentic audience. Experiences like this not only strengthen understanding, but also build confidence and communication skills.

We are proud of our 4th graders for the way they rose to the challenge and grateful to Bullitt East FFA for investing their time in our students and helping bring learning to life!

It’s such a busy time of the year for our program! Today, some of our animal science students had the opportunity to listen to presentations from Old Mill students and this evening, Landon Huber was sworn in as regional treasurer for the Lincoln Trail Region.

Bullitt East FFA is moving from the Capital City FFA Region to the Lincoln Trail FFA Region, so Landon will serve as our first Lincoln Trail Regional officer in program history. ⭐️💙
