Mount Baker Middle School

With the risk of significant flooding, the District has been closely monitoring Skagit River levels and predicted conditions since last Friday. Current forecasts show river levels peaking between 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 11th, and 4:00 PM on Friday, December 12th, with predictions exceeding the highest level on record at 37 feet.

The safety and well-being of our students, families, and staff is our top priority. Out of an abundance of caution, all after-school activities and sporting events scheduled for today have been canceled. All schools will be closed on Thursday, December 11th, and Friday, December 12th. All evening events and sporting activities on those days are also canceled. We will work with our union leaders to determine emergency make-up days.

Please watch for updates from us, on where to pick up sandbags and information about emergency shelters if your home has been affected by flooding.

School begins tomorrow, YAY! We are excited to see students. Students will have the opportunity to pick up their class schedule tomorrow between 7:00 and 7:25 AM in the courtyard outside between the cafeteria and Mount Baker.

The cafeteria will be serving breakfast from 7:00 to 7:25 with classes beginning at 7:30. We do ask that students bring their District issued charged Chromebook to school each and everyday starting on the first day. If your child did not receive a Chromebook, one will be issued to them.

📚✨ The first day of school is almost here—Wednesday, August 27th! Our schools are busy preparing to welcome students back into the hallways for an incredible year of learning and growth. 💙

The following list of supplies are needed to support student success. All other supplies needed for students to be successful in class will be supplied by Mount Baker Middle School. All students will be supported in effectively using a planner (which will be handed out at school the first week of school) and an organized binder.

Backpack/Daypack
1- Binder 1/2 to 1 inch
Subject dividers (8)
#2 Pencils - 3 packs of 24 (prefer pre-sharpened)
3 - Boxes of tissue
Hand sanitizer - for your students personal use
Earphones/headphones with a cord (not wireless) - optional (students use these with our Chromebooks for educational purposes

MATERIALES PARA MOUNT BAKER 2025/2026
Todos los estudiantes recibirán apoyo para usar de manera efectiva una agenda y una carpeta organizada. Se necesita la siguiente lista de útiles para apoyar el éxito del estudiante:
