On September 29, 10 of our FFA members went down to Doup farms for District Soils. Here they ribboned out the soil, determined what type of soil it is, the slope of the land, and what can be built on the land. Our Rural soils team got 5th place and our Urban Soils team got 2nd place! Both teams are moving on to States! States will take place in 2 weeks on October 10th.

On September 28, 7 of our FFA members went to Hocking College to compete at State Forestry. Here they took all the skills and knowledge they had developed throughout County and Districts and put it to the final test. After all their hard work they got 11th place the best our State Forestry team has done in over ten years! Congratulations to them!

Today on 9/25/26, 37 of our members went to county soils at Cambells farm. Here they get to get down in the soil pits and determine what type it is. They also got to determine what the land is good for and what the slope is. Our Urban team got 1st place and our Rural team got 2nd! Next up Districts!

On September 23, 35 of our ag members went to Farm Science Review for the day. We left the school at 7 am and returned at 2:20 pm. Here we got to learn about the land, practice soils, walk around and look at all the tractors and vendors. It was rainy at first but then it began to stop and was a nice chilly fall day.

Today on September 10, 2026, 16 of our members went to the county jail for District Forestry, We did timber cruising, equipment identification, leaf identification, worked with compasses, and product identification. We left at 12:30 to go get food, and we head to states in 2 weeks!

Yesterday we met at Aerial Foundation Park from 5-7 pm. We fished, played corn hole, and enjoyed each others company. We left before the rain started pouring and even got to meet someone’s pet bird.
