Yay! In just under a month the Cornell College Music Department welcomes artist-in-residence Reena Esmail, as they will perform her multi-movement work for chorus, orchestra, tabla and sitar, "This Love Between Us," focused on unity between religions. This exciting work blends the Hindustani and Western classical music stylings together. The concert will be held at the United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon on Thursday, November 20th at 7 pm. Oskar Diyali, a rising junior at Cornell, is interning at the legendary Pachyderm Studios in Minnesota this summer — the same studio where Nirvana recorded In Utero album. As an Audio Engineering Intern, he’s gaining hands-on experience with high-end analog gears, signal chains, studio workflow and plugin design. We’re proud to see Oskar bringing his passion for music and technology together into such a professional environment.

Lewis Fawcett ’26 spent Block 6 interning at a recording studio in New York, where he honed his skills in audio production and learned the ins and outs of the industry. From placing microphones on a Steinway grand to balancing artist vision with technical expertise, Lewis gained hands-on experience that solidified his passion for music production.

Our flute campers were hard at work today rehearsing their flute choir music with Cornell Artist Instructor of Flute Rose Bishop and guest artist Heather Neuenschwander. It might be a little grey and cloudy outside today, but the sounds of beautiful music are filling Armstrong Hall!
