School-Age Lead Teacher

Salary: $14.00 - $18.00 an hour

Absolutely Loved Learning Center is currently seeking a Lead School-Age Lead Teacher. We provide excellent opportunities for teachers to expand their knowledge and skills in early childhood education through extensive professional development, on-the-job mentoring, and training. We also provide an environment where educators are free to be creative and to express their passion for educating children in their classrooms.

Job Summary:
The Lead Teachers help create a safe and nurturing environment while incorporating fun and creative lesson plans to support the learning and development of our children. The Lead Teacher will be responsible for all aspects of classroom management, including, but not limited to, the education, social and emotional development, lesson planning, and the screening/assessment of each child. This position will have the opportunity to work directly with other Lead Teachers and other support staff to create and develop a classroom environment that contributes to the success of each child.

Job Responsibilities:
Develop daily lesson plans using Teaching Strategies/Pennical that are individualized for each child and incorporate goals and social and emotional development
Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and parents that are supportive of their needs
Create activities that are fun and engaging for children
Utilize assessment tools to monitor and track the progress of each child
Manage all day-to-day aspects of the classroom, including meals, gross and fine motor skills, and outdoor playtime
Establish a positive working relationship with the classroom assistants and other support staff who ensure quality services are provided to children and families
Comply with all applicable regulations, including Absolutely Loved Learning Center, ODJFS Licensing, and Step Up to Quality
Continuously monitor children to ensure their safety at all times, and report child abuse and neglect when necessary

Qualifications:
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Must maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times
Must be able to relate to individuals of all ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds
Ability to work independently and within a group when necessary
Responsible for personally maintaining current certifications and/or licensures
Must be able to meet required qualifications, including an ODJFS medical Statement, and screening

Required Education/Experience:
A Bachelor's/Associate Degree in Education, preferred, or a closely related field, a Child Development Certificate, or related fields. Lead Teaching experience required
Preschool or Childcare: 2 years (Preferred)

Thank you to everyone who came out to support our ribbon cutting ceremony.

We are so grateful to have been able to expand our center and open our new Infant–Toddler Room. This exciting growth was made possible through the generosity and support of The Knox County Foundation, the Knox County Women’s Group, who contributed grants. Additionally, the Ladies Group of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church has donated supplies to benefit both our children and staff.

A special shout-out to our contractor, John Bennett, who has worked incredibly hard to help make this expansion possible.

Thank you to the Knox County Chamber of Commerce for helping us host such a wonderful event, and to Mayor Matt Starr for speaking at our ceremony, it was an honor to have him in attendance.

We are also grateful to Park National Bank and PNC bank for their continued support, and to the Lions Club, who take the time to visit and engage with our students.

Seeing so many familiar faces—families, friends, local businesses, and community members—meant more to us than we can put into words.

We also want to give a special thank you to the Freedom Center and the Mount Vernon Public Library for visiting our students, reading stories, and helping promote social-emotional learning.

This day wasn’t just about a ribbon being cut or a new space being opened. It was about growth, love, and our community coming together.

At Absolutely Loved Learning Center, we truly believe it takes a village to raise children… and we are so proud to be part of that village. We need our community support, just like our community needs us. Together, we can create a safer, stronger, more supported place for our families.

We are also so very proud to share that Absolutely Loved Learning Center has received our Gold Rating through Ohio’s Step Up to Quality program. This recognition reflects our commitment to providing high-quality care for every child in our center.

Thank you for believing in us, cheering us on, and showing up for our kids. We are so excited for what’s next and can’t wait to continue serving this community with love and purpose.
