Parent Support Initiative of Knox County, Ohio Providing resources and support to parents in Knox County, Ohio Every parent needs some support at some point.

The Parent Support Initiative is the response of the Knox County Resilience Team to Community Health Assessments in 2011 and 2014. Two of the top three priority concerns in Knox County were substance abuse and mental health issues. Childhood trauma was identified as the most important factor predicting later issues with substance abuse, mental health and a variety of other social and health issues

. Parent education and support were identified as a long-term strategy to creating positive home environments that nurture all children in Knox County. We provide parenting classes, coaching, seminars and workshops. The Knox County Parent Support Initiative is funded by generous support from the Ariel Foundation, through lead agency Knox County Head Start, with additional funding from United Way of Knox County and the Ohio Children's Trust Fund.
