This week, Spiritual Emphasis gave our campus two days set apart to worship, hear the Word, and respond to what God is doing in our lives.
On Tuesday, Campus Pastor Steve Edwards challenged us from Jeremiah 1 to stop allowing our insecurities, limitations, or excuses to keep us from the purpose God has given us. We may not all have the same platform, but as believers, we share the same purpose: to know God, become more like Christ, glorify Him with our lives, and make Him known. The question he left us with was simple: Is your yes on the table?
On Wednesday, BPCU alumnus Dr. Jeremy Morton, Pastor of First Baptist Church Woodstock, returned to campus and shared from the feeding of the 5,000. A small lunch didn’t look like much in the hands of a little boy, but everything changed when it was placed in the hands of Jesus. His challenge to our students was to bring it all to Him: our gifts, our plans, our struggles, our future, and our whole lives, trusting Him with what He can do with what we surrender.
And both days, when the invitation was given, students flooded the altar.
Some came to surrender their lives to Christ. Some came to pray. Some came to lay down the excuses that had kept them from fully following Him. Some came to put their “yes” on the table, and some simply came to place what they were carrying into the hands of Jesus.
We began this semester praying that “Your story. His purpose. Our mission.” would be more than words we repeat. This week, we watched students respond to that truth.
God is at work at BPCU, and we are praying this is only the beginning. 🧡💙
