Amazing concert yesterday! The whole program of Schubert piano music. It was so special to share the stage with these 2 young pianists playing Op. 90. One is my students and another is Vassily’s.
So proud of my school!!!

This is one of the most important thoughts I share with all my students… The mistake kids make us to work on something, repeat and repeat and the moment they hit it right - they stop! Why???

I always make them repeat after they got it right at least 3-5 times.. If you go by this rule not yo stop the moment your goal was achieved, the end result will be much better!

Boy, do I miss this man!!!!!!! Its hard to believe its been 10 years since he is gone. Way too early, way too soon. The world lost an amazing Musician, superb teacher and just an amazing person.

I have such special feelings for him. I was only 8 when I met him. He also studied with the same legendary teacher Anaida Sumbatian that I was studying at the time. She introduced us with the long term goal for me to study with him when I was older.

Vladimir Vsevolodovich didn't teach then due to his extremely heavy performance schedule. But whenever he was in Moscow, I would go for a lesson. He was bigger than life. He was all I wanted to be when I grow up.....

He was so devoted to his students... In fact, we all felt like his children. He would welcome us into his life, feed us, take care of us. His home was always open for us. I remember calling him at midnight crying about my break up with a boyfriend....maybe even more than once. I knew it was safe to tell him anything.

The influence he had on me as a musician is enormous. I often hear his voice in my head when I am teaching my kids...

Today is his birthday!. He would only be 77....

I miss him terribly, but I am so thankful that I had a chance to know him, hear him play, take in his instructions and hopefully share now with my students his gifts and wisdom.

This picture is very special to me.... I could see from Vassily's back HOW intently he is listening to his student!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What a great moment to share with the kids... All the hard work, sweat and tears ( yes, sometimes!) pay off BIG TIME! When the performance or recording goes well and you see a huge smile on their face, thats the ultimate goal.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Competitions, concerts and auditions designed to push kids to achieve higher level of musicianship. But the most valuable result is their satisfaction and simply happiness!

There is no better feeling than to see your student playing their heart out on a gorgeous piano. I don't know where did the time go, was 4 when she started with me..... and look at her now!

How do you feel after a concert, especially if you are happy with your performance?
🎹
I should start by saying that I am almost never "happy" with my own playing. I find moments that could have been better. But this time I was satisfied with it....
🎹
Without going to the whole story, let me just say that sometimes there are circumstances BEYOND our control that prevent us from successfully completing a project.
🎹
We were unlucky this time. The playing was good, the piano was amazing, but the sound engineer turned out to be less than PROFESSIONAL...Lets leave it at that!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, tomorrow we have another try. The same program, the same place, different day and different sound engineer...
I can't wait to play again!

What would you name as one of the most important pillars in your life? What holds you together?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Family? Profession? Kids? Friends? Probably all of the above...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I don't know where I would be without Vassily. We share so much.... Both of us went to the same school in Moscow studying under truly legendary Professor Vera Gornostaeva. It was an amazing schooling not just how to play piano, but how to deal with life. During those years we travel extensively together playing concerts and most importantly, forming unbreakable friendship.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
He is my inspiration, my most honest critic and my biggest fan!
He makes me feel strong and able, he tells me when I am wrong and when I am right. He is someone I can count on no matter what. He is family!

Handmade is always special, right? Dress that is made for YOU is unique, suit that is done by bespoke tailor fits perfectly.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The same approach is taken a the Homeschool Music Conservatory.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When we meet a student for the first time, every teacher on staff makes it a priority to understand students and his/her family goals.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What would you like to achieve by signing up for violin or piano lessons? Would you like to play for your enjoyment? Or would you like your child to participate in the international level competitions?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
All this information helps us to build a UNIQUE plan.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I believe this approach and lots of love for Music makes us different from other schools.

Come and try it for yourself!

I am extremely grateful to have such loyal and serious students at the school that not only take all the advice of teachers and make it a reality through hard work and discipline , but also are so vocal and clear about their support of the school!
Thank you from all my heart!

I always knew from the beginning of my teaching days that the most important goal is to make a student feel capable...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Would you like to continue doing something if you only hear corrections and critique?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I keep my feedback positive! My golden rule is for every negative thing I have to say to steer a student in the right direction, I am sure to balance it out with at least two positive things.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Good tempo, Johnny! I think that note was supposed to be a G– how about you try that phrase of music again, with the correct note? You are sitting up so nice and tall!”..... just an example.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
At the end of the day, I want them to love playing their instrument and connect to it in their own way!
