A 250th, Americana Summer Day! 🇺🇸💙💦😎☀️❤️ Our program celebrated America’s 250th birthday yesterday with our annual Water Day & Red, White & Blue Parade! This year we encouraged children & families to decorate a bicycle, wagon or scooter for the special 250th & had one of the best of the best cool down treats in Southern Indiana, JB's Barnyard! 🍦😋

A very special thank you to our city mayor, Steve Loehr, for attending & leading our parade along with the Mount Vernon Fire Department & for keeping us COOL & SAFE this year!

Our program truly cherishes these memories for years to come & we love nothing more than providing this experience for the supporting families of our small town, USA community that is Mount Vernon, Indiana!

A MERRY MORNING!🎄🎅🏼 Our Preschool & Pre-K programs were invited by the Mount Vernon Kiwanis Club to attend their Reading Circle this morning at the APL! We enjoyed a reading of Grumpy Monkey: Oh No, Christmas, & explored the different feelings & emotions that come w the holiday season.

We want to give a big thank you to Staci R. & Amy S. of Kiwanis, the Mt. Vernon High School Key Club members (sponsored by Luke H.), & Mrs Kissinger, the high school librarian, for their time pouring into the young children of our community.

We think it could go without saying… but Rudy, of course, warmed the room & brought the most smiles & cheer!🥰

Learning opportunities like this makes us so appreciative of the community involvement that surrounds & strengthens our program! ✨

SPECIAL DELIVERY! 📬 We enjoyed a unique visit w our neighborhood mail carrier this morning! He taught us all about how letters & packages travel through our community.

Using the mail we received today, we discussed the importance of our address and the use of stamps. We were even gifted our own to take home! … One step closer to a completed letter to Santa. 🎄🎅🏼 We’re still waiting on our Amazon.com holiday gift book to come though?!

LEARNING FROM OUR LOCAL HEROES! 🥹🚒🔥 Our Older Toddlers, Preschool 3’s/4’s & Pre-K 4’s/5’s enjoyed an unforgettable visit to the Mount Vernon Fire Department as part of this month’s curriculum theme, Community Helpers!

We had the most engaging, hands-on learning experience that allowed our children to make real-world connections to what we discuss in the classroom. Nothing tops those bright lights! Well, maybe also seeing the big bins of candy they spotted for this Friday’s trick-or-treating. 😄

FOURTH OF JULY PARADE! 💙🇺🇸❤️ Thursday, July 3rd was our annual Fourth of July Parade w our children & families. This tradition is one of the highlights of our year! It’s more than a parade — it’s a time when we come together as a community to celebrate our country, our families, & most of all, our children!

It’s about the freedom to laugh, play, & wave our flags high! It’s about pride in who we are & the values that we share: unity, kindness, and love!

Thank you to all of our families & our very own city mayor, Mr Loehr, for showing up, cheering them on, & helping make this celebration so special year after year! God Bless America! 🎇
