It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my Uncle, Jim McClintock. Uncle Jim passed away peacefully last night at the Sherman Oaks Hospital, Los Angeles, California
He began his singing "career" at the young age of 6, when his local church "Sunshine Group", from his hometown of Springfield, Ohio, visited the "Prison-Farm" to present a short inspirational music service. In order to be seen he was placed on a chair behind the podium, and sang with fervor; "Hold the Fort, For I Am Coming!" Thankfully, no prisoners tried to take over the place!
Jim became involved in Male Quartet singing during his freshman year in High School. During the next few years he sang with various Glee Clubs and numerous choirs, including the Roger Wagner Chorale and Mitzelfelt Chorale.
A graduate of Southern Adventist University, he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business and Accounting. Both, private accounting and CPA firms for a number of years employed him as a means of supporting his gradually growing music career.
Jim sang with various professional gospel quartets throughout the Southeastern United States from 1952 to 1962. He declined a very lucrative opportunity to join the Jordanaires Quartet in 1958, while they were the "Back-up" group for Elvis Presley in several of his movies and recordings.
He became the bass of the King's Heralds Quartet of the International Radio Broadcast, Voice of Prophecy in 1962. For the next 15-years until 1977, he was privileged to sing in over 20 different languages and dialects. He recorded over 25 different albums of Gospel Music while with the King's Heralds, traveling worldwide, singing in the languages of various countries, which they visited during those years.
In 1977 he developed a personal music and preaching ministry.
MINISTRY OF THE CROSS became a full-time "Faith Adventure" in 1988, involving concerts, revivals, television & radio appearances throughout the United States, Canada, and Latin America. Since 1988, the Ministry has produced over 20 different albums, featuring many personal compositions, and includes 3 albums in Spanish.

Congratulations to Tim Bailey, MVA class of 1983. Welcome to the Mountain View Conference!!

We are pleased to announce that Mountain View Conference has a new president. Elder Tim Bailey, from the Pennsylvania Conference, will complete the term and fill the vacancy left by Mike Hewitt, who accepted a call to the Kentucky-Tennessee Conference. Dave Weigley, Columbia Union Conference president, who chaired today’s MVC executive committee, says Bailey was elected with strong support. “Tim Bailey brings to Mountain View a rich experience in leading both pastors and members to embrace a Christ-centered evangelistic approach to ministry.” Additional information is forth coming.

On a sad note reporting the death of Betty Hostetler Lunsford '48 this weekend. A service will be held tomorrow at the Memorial Gardens in Mt. Vernon at 11:00. She is survived by her sisters Marlene Gilleroth '54 and Cheryl Ingersol '56. Also a niece, Tina Gilleroth Marvin '79. Please keep this family in your prayers.

Sad note today. I don't have much info but, received information that Mrs Peggy Rapp passed away last Friday. She was 93 and lived in Arizona. Our prayers go out to the Rapp family

I just received this message from Dixie Workman Waite, Class of 1963...
Reaching out to let our MVA Alumni family know that the husband of one our MVA Class of 1963 classmates, Judy Loudin Goodrich, passed away this afternoon from the Coronavirus.
Judy and her husband lived in Nyack, New York, an inner suburb of New York City, near the Hudson River. Judy attended MVA for three years, graduating in '63. Judy's husband was a physician.
My heart is heavy tonight, aching for Judy, expecially because of the cause of her husband's death, even though he was a physician.
I just wanted to share this news with our MVA Alumni family and ask you to pray for Judy Goodrich, that God will hold her in the palm of His hand during this very difficult time.
And please let us all pray for God's mercy on us and our families durng this challenging time... I don't want to receive another phone call like the one I received today.

Happy Sabbath! Just a note to let everyone know that Alumni Weekend is coming up April 24 and 25! We are planning on it as before, with Friday evening vespers, Sabbath School, Church, Haystack lunch, Afternoon Sacred Concert, Soup and Salad Supper, and Saturday evening vespers. I hope to see you all there. The 30 year class, 40 year class, 50 year class and 60 year class will be having the programs.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

We are needing someone or someones to step up and plan Alumni Weekend in the future. It's been 5 years since the school closed and we need someone to take over, particularly the set up and take down on campus and the church.

Please contact me if any of you feel the need or know of someone.
