Mount Vernon Middle School is a part of the Mount Vernon City Schools. Mount Vernon City Schools is made up of six elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. The middle school houses grades six, seven and eight. The middle school enrollment is typically around 950 students. We are located in central Ohio about 45 miles northeast of Columbus along the historic 3 C Highway and near t

he banks of the beautiful Kokosing River. Mount Vernon, Ohio's Colonial City, is the county seat of Knox County and home to Mount Vernon City Schools. Within the boundaries of our district are campuses for Mount Vernon Nazarene University, Kenyon College, and Central Ohio Technical College. These partners in education provide unique opportunities for our students.

Beginning of The School Year Returning Students Required Information Form
As we prepare for the new school year, we want to ensure that all student records are accurate and up to date. Mount Vernon City Schools requires all families to complete a Returning Student Information Form before August 19, 2026.

Beginning this year, the district is transitioning from OneView to PowerSchool Enrollment for all returning student information updates. OneView will no longer be used for this process.

In the coming days, the primary contact for each returning student will receive an email from PowerSchool Enrollment. Each email contains a secure, student-specific link that allows you to access and update your child's information.

The first time you use the link, you will be prompted to create a PowerSchool Enrollment Parent Portal account if you do not already have one. After creating your account, simply continue using the secure link provided in the email to review and update your student's information.

Each secure link includes a unique Snapcode, which safely connects you to your child's enrollment record. This code is automatically included in the link and helps ensure you are updating the correct student's information.

If you have more than one child enrolled in Mount Vernon City Schools, you will receive a separate email and secure link for each student.

What Families Need to Do
Watch for an email from PowerSchool Enrollment for each returning student.
Create a PowerSchool Enrollment Parent Portal account (or sign in if you already have one).
Open the secure student link provided in the email.
Review and update your student's information, including:
Home address
Parent/guardian contact information
Emergency contacts
Student permissions and agreements
Submit the completed Returning Student Information Form by August 19, 2026.
