Studio RLC Cosmetology School

Today was Kid’s Camp at Studio RLC !! Local young ladies came and spent the day with us and learned about the beauty industry, skincare, hair care and nails. How fun right?!! 👏🏻 while they waited their turn they also enjoyed some activities such as making there own flavored and sparkly lip gloss, friendship bracelets, and practiced putting makeup on our mannequins.

Monday the Esthetician students had a special guest come in to do a demonstration of lash extensions, speak to them about how she is building her lash business and she offered for any of them that are interested to job shadow her. 🥰 Our special guest is Ceirra Lane, Ceirra graduated from RLC Esthetician program last year and works at Magnolia Salon in MtVernon. Her business name is Lane’s Lashes and Esthetics. Thank you so much for being a mentor and coming in to help guide and educate future estheticians we are super proud of you and thankful!

Today, Sarah Garcia had the amazing opportunity to share how this career can take you anywhere........from styling on cruise ships, owning your own business, hosting wellness retreats, to protecting our industry by serving on the Illinois Board through the IDFPR. A licensed professional is so much more than just working in a barbershop, salon, or spa! 💈💇‍♀️💆‍♀️✨

We had an amazing morning of Dermalogica education! Aidenn is an amazing educator and very knowledgeable when it comes to being a Licensed Skincare Therapist and the use of Dermalogica products. His hands on demonstration was top notch, our student model left with brighter glowing skin and more relaxed! Cindy our Dermalogica representative went over a career path PowerPoint with the students and got them connected to some valuable resources! What a great way to start our week here in the Esthetics department at RLC!

A huge thank you to ProjectCHILD for organizing this fantastic event for our students! The weather was absolutely beautiful and all the activities were so fun.

Today the Esthetician students traveled to Walker’s Bluff Spa for a tour. A Big Thank you to M.J. For an excellent experience, she gave the students a lot of great information and explained the career opportunities at
WB Spa. The Spa is beautiful and we loved all the amenities such as the sauna, ice room, hot tub, private pool , facial treatment rooms, hair salon, nail salon and massage rooms.

This morning's makeup theory class featured interactive hands-on learning!
