Whether you're a seasoned homeschooling momma, fresh out of the gate or just batting around the idea, come and join us for an evening of discussing all things homeschool!

Light snacks and drinks will be provided. Please, message me or comment below to RSVP just so we can ensure everyone has a comfy seat prior to arrival. If you decide to pop in at the last minute, that's a-okay, too. You just might be sitting on the floor, but hey, we've got pillows!

Bring your favorite teaching resources and any questions you may have. This journey isn't for the faint of heart, but with a community of like-minded individuals, you can conquer anything!

Hey, there!
I'm Kelsei, the educator behind Let Your Light Shine Learning. It's been nearly 3 years since I stepped into this new adventure and so much has happened along the way. I think it's time for a reintroduction and update.

After teaching in local schools for over a decade, I felt the Lord call me to a new avenue of teaching.

In the fall of 2023, I saw a local need for intensive tutoring instruction in reading and math. Five families entrusted me with their kiddos as we utilized the local library and church to launch Let Your Light Shine Learning. Those families will forever hold a special place in my heart. They gave me a chance. They gave me the encouragement and support to lean in to what the Lord had for me. The time I spent with their kiddos doesn't seem that long ago, and I pray those memories never fade. 🫶

That winter, with the incredible support and handy talents of my husband, we invested in a shell of a building and built a beautiful little schoolhouse right in our front yard. This little red schoolhouse was the vision God laid on my heart, but I had no real grasp of the provision and blessings He would pour into it. 🙌

In the fall of 2024, I opened the doors, with a muddy driveway and minimal furniture. I was blessed to serve 18 local kiddos that school year.

In the summer of 2025, I stepped out in faith and held a trial run of Microschool class once a week with 10 really great kids. The Lord also blessed me with 13 kiddos to tutor that summer.

As the 2025-2026 school year began, I shared plans for launching Microschool classes for homeschoolers in Kinder-Middle school grades. What a wild first year it's been! There were loads of shifts and changes as I worked out the best way to serve kiddos that joined. My kids and I found a fabulously fun way to learn with new friends. We faced unexpected challenges together, and built some of the most beautiful relationships with families we had never met. This school year, 13 children attended classes in the Microschool at various points in the year. THIRTEEN amazing kids! Never in my wildest dreams did I think this would be a reality…But God did. His plans are always better.

On top of an amazing first year launching the Microschool, I was blessed to serve 27 kiddos in tutoring. I've witnessed more gains and breakthroughs this past two years than I can count. The kids that I get to work with every week are some of the most resilient and kind-hearted kids I've ever met.

This summer, we're taking a break from the Microschool to prepare and plan for a fantastic 2026-2027 school year. The majority of my tutoring kiddos are sticking with me through the summer and a few new friends are scheduled to come on board. 🥹

I'm constantly in awe at what the Lord has done here. The blessings, the strength and provision through trial, the guidance of Holy Spirit….all of it. Blessing after blessing because He is good all the time.

I've worked harder than I ever have in my life this past 2 years, but all of this has only been possible through the goodness of God. All Glory be to Him!

March is here, and we're excited!

We're starting 3 weeks of Dr. Seuss silliness as we explore different types of literature and experiment with some silly science!

We'll wrap things up and slide into April with lessons on extreme weather!

Spring is near, and we're ready!

Classes meet on Tuesdays from 9-1pm.

Kiddos ready for Kindergarten - 5th grade supplemental learning are welcome to register.

Limited spots available, but attendance is flexible!

We're marching into 2026 with grateful hearts.

As the microschool launched last fall, there was so much to reflect on and consider as the Lord continued to refine how we were to use this time and this space...and He isn't finished yet.

This month, we're studying forms of transportation with inspiring stories about inventors, strong vocabulary, and hands-on fun!

Each week, we will have 10 spots open on Tuesdays for learners to join in. Message us for more information or to reserve a spot in an upcoming class.

10/10 Highly recommend doing an evergreen tree study during the holidays.

We explored the trees around us and brought nature into our art project today.

Bonus idea: take a deep dive with your family into the history of the Christmas tree and the redemptive nature of Jesus dying on a tree as the light of the world and the greatest gift given to God's children.
