Whether you are at your ideal weight or striving to reach your weight goal is it
simply a matter of burning more calories than you take in?

The answer, I suggest, is no! Overall body health improvement as well as weight gain or loss must be factored into the equation or you could be heading for problems.

Correct nutrition can help to reduce the risk of a myriad of health-related problems, the most frightening of which are surely heart disease and cancer. Proper nutrition,
however, entails eating many different foods, monitoring your consumption of
some food and beverage items, and counting calories.

Good diets offer balanced nutrition that reduces cholesterol, blood pressure, and helps with weight control.

To function properly, your body must have the correct combination of nutrients.

It’s so easy to compare yourself to others….

To look at how far someone else has gone and think you should be where they are…

But the reality is, we all have our own pace and comparing your life with someone’s else isn’t fair to you.

Go at your own pace, don’t worry about what others are doing.

As long as you are moving in the direction you want to go and are better than you were the day before, you are doing perfectly fine.

Stop punishing yourself for not being where someone else is. You are right where you are suppose to be and working towards where you are going.

Spent the day with my girls celebrating my birthday a little early.


Each new day is a new opportunity to improve yourself.

Take is and make the most of it.

For most of us, the #1 challenge in the quest to stay in shape and/or lose weight is not exercising itself but being able to actually fit an exercise program into our busy schedules.

So how do you do it? How do you balance the demands of family, career, important errands, relationships, organizational responsibilities, and working out? I have found that there are five keys that will help you to be able to fit a consistent workout plan into your already hectic life.

No matter what goals you have for health, fitness, or weight loss, you CAN fit an effective exercise program into that hectic schedule of yours and be amazingly successful at getting the exact results that you want!


Are the habits you have creating the person you want to be?

If not what do you need to change?

I have an alarm set on my phone to go off randomly that says "Is what you are doing right now getting you closer to where you want to be?" and when that goes off I look at what I'm doing and think about it. Some times the answer is yes and sometimes I'm scrolling TikTok.

This alarm serves as a nice little reset for the times I'm doing things that doesn't serve me.

Now I'm not saying that scrolling TikTok or binge watching Netflix is never okay. Sometimes those moments are needed and are leading you towards the future you want because sometimes we all need that mindless break from life. But if you find yourself spending more time doom scrolling than not... its no longer serving you and most likely actually hurting you.

In those moments of endless mindlessness, ask yourself... "what COULD I be doing instead that would help me get where I want to go?"

If you’re currently not eating a healthy diet, it can be difficult to start such a plan.
However, healthy eating along with some exercise is very important for
maintaining a good bodily function and goes a long way towards living a disease-free life.

If you struggle with healthy eating, then you know that breaking
unhealthy habits can be the most difficult part of the process. Therefore, if you
truly want to live the best lifestyle possible, it is important to follow tips in order to
start eating a more healthy diet.

Start with baby steps. Even if you only replace one soda a day with a glass of water,
you are really improving your calorie intake. If you eat fast food every day for lunch,
try replacing that half of the time with better quality foods. When you start by
taking small steps you aren’t cutting out all of the foods you love all at once. By
taking your time to learn about your eating habits and slowly replacing them with
better meals, by taking the time to learn and understand why you should be doing
that and making the necessary changes in an orderly fashion, you will feel much
better within yourself physically, mentally and emotionally and well on the road to
becoming as healthy as you can be.

Something I never knew about…

The endocannabinoid system. I had never heard of it and had no clue that it something that we all have.

Everyone has different emotions, and different emotions effect everyone in a different way. Someone that turns to food to deal with those emotions may have a problem with emotional eating.

I personally use to struggled with emotional eating a lot. I would be doing great... eating all the right things and feeling amazing when BOOM... something happened in my life that would get me down or causes me extra stress and it was all over. I would turn to food as a way to feel better and typically that would turn to all out out binge....


If the emotions were extreme I would do the opposite and totally stop eating.
Neither way is healthy, and there are better ways to handle emotions that I had to learn.

This is something that we often can forget, especially as a mom.

It's easy to forget to take care of yourself when you have so much else going on and so many people who need you...

But you can't give from an empty cup!

By taking sometime to take care of yourself you are actually showing up for others as a better, more refreshed version of yourself.... and therefore you are more able to care for them.

So schedule that workout, spa day, bubble bath, or night out with friends. Make a commitment to yourself to take time for selfcare, put it on your calendar, and stick to it!
