Skagit Valley College - Invest Program

Although not all of our graduates were able to join us for today's ceremony, we proudly celebrated the accomplishments of the entire INVEST graduating class.
Over the past one to two years, these students have challenged themselves, developed new skills, built meaningful connections, and worked toward their goals.
Congratulations to our INVEST graduates. We are so proud of everything you have achieved. 🎓

Congratulations to Dylan Mendoza, recipient of the 2026 INVEST Department Award!

Dylan has been a steady, dependable presence in our program. Whether tackling challenges, supporting classmates, or working toward his goals, he approaches each opportunity with determination, maturity, and a willingness to learn.

His growth and accomplishments have been remarkable, and this recognition is well deserved. We are incredibly proud of Dylan and all he has achieved.

Turns out smashing things is excellent for morale! INVEST students had a great time, and I came home with a free tomato plant. I'd call that a successful afternoon. 🍅 💥

Lunch from the FoodLab food truck today! 🚚🍽️ I had a BLT and crispy sunchokes with herb aioli. Everything was delicious. I'm always impressed by the talent and hard work of our Skagit Valley College culinary students and staff!!

INVEST alum Bailey is back at the SVC pursuing welding and representing the welding club with their new hoodie! After transitioning from high school with INVEST's support, he's continuing to work towards his goals!

Thanks to Andrea from Sinclair Oil Refinery for an engaging presentation for our students about careers in our area. This visit is part of our partnership with Futures Northwest, who learn about our students’ interests and bring in informative guest speakers to match. In this picture, you can see Jayden proudly showing off his new Sinclair hat and squishy dinosaur after a great afternoon of learning.

Study lab in full swing, Mardi Gras style. 💜📚 Students worked across subjects, customer service wrapped up, then gumbo all around. Erwin joined the table after class, and my boys learned that when mom runs study lab, everyone participates!!
