Thursday and Friday, members spent their time at the Kentucky State Fair! 🌽🎡 There were numerous competitions that students competed in.

On Thursday, there was:
⭐️Wildlife-6th place 🎖️
Sophia Combs, high individual🥇
⭐️Dairy-participants 🎖️

On Friday:
⭐️Seed ID-participant 🎖️
⭐️Land Judging-Numerous participants 🎖️
⭐️Homesite Evaluation-2nd place senior team🥈

Today, we had dozens of elementary school kids from all over Montgomery County come out to the school farm to learn about some of the things we do within different areas of agriculture! 🌾 The kids learned about different animals such as cows, pigs, goats, and horses! They also got to learn about lawn mower safety. The kids also enjoyed cooling off by coloring and play with some of the puppies from the Montgomery County Animal Shelter! 🐶 Before we said goodbye, the students participated in a scavenger hunt and hay ride! 🚜 🔍

CAMP DAY 4 & 5

Days 4 and 5 of FFA Camp have ended and students are home after an incredible week!

Day 4 consisted of waking up and eating breakfast, and watching the flag raising as always. 🇺🇸 Right after, we split up into our color groups for a huddle and then left for our classes! After our classes we went back to our color groups for the Barn Yard Olympics! 🐐🏆 Students ended day 4 with silent disco and karaoke! 🎤

On day 5, students woke up and enjoyed one last breakfast together. They split into their color groups for one final time. Each color group took a different spot on campus to pickup trash right before the final session. Sophia Combs was able to serve on campus council once again to adjourn camp! 🎉

FFA CAMP

FFA Camp day 3 has come to a close!
Students began their day at breakfast and then attending the flag raising. Right after they dispersed into their O&O classes! For chapter time, We participated in the low ropes course on campus! 🪢 Right after, they went to their officer classes and then to lunch! 🍔 After lunch, We went to our workshops and learned more about being leaders! We then spent our time on the athletic field playing gaga ball, basketball, and soccer. We ended our day watching the fire works to celebrate America’s Birthday. 🇺🇸

FFA CAMP

Day 2 is complete! 🏆

We began our day by eating breakfast and then watching the flag raising this morning. After that, students were split up into their officer classes where they learned how to better their response to the responsibilities given to them. Student then at lunch and were dismissed to workshops. 🥽 After workshops, we ate dinner and then enjoyed our free time through the day by playing games and being with friends! 🕹️ We ended our day by winning the first round of the volleyball tournament 🏐🥇

FFA CAMP

That’s a wrap on day 1 of FFA camp for our members! ⛺️

We started our day arriving at the Carrol Martin Gatton FFA Leadership Training Center. Once we arrived, we settled in to our cabins and headed off to lunch. After lunch, students then went and watched the opening ceremonies where Sophia Combs represented our chapter as vice president on campus council. ⭐️ Students also enjoyed workshops and being sorted into their colors groups before heading off to the games. Montgomery County won the first round of kickball🥇 and many students enjoyed playing volleyball, Gaga ball, and basketball. 🏀

✨Conduct of Chapter Meetings: Julianna Burnette, Adyleigh Henderson, Evan Gasparelli, Kylan Martin, Kelsi Sparks, Paislee Bruner, Abigail Caudill - participants

✨FFA Quiz Contest: Adyleigh Henderson - participant

✨Record Keeping: Julianna Burnette, Adyleigh Henderson, Evan Gasparelli, Paislee Bruner - participants

We also had numerous members compete in the State Agriscience Fair contest! Some of those categories include:

We are so proud of all of our participants for the incredible week they’ve had at the 97th Kentucky State FFA Convention and Expo!!

Today, numerous members were enjoying and competing in the 97th Kentucky state FFA convention and expo held in Lexington Kentucky 🤩!

The competition ranges from our middle school doing essays and chapter meetings, to our seniors competing in parliamentary procedure and many speaking and hands on contests in between! 👀

Our President, Sophia Combs, led our superintendent, Dr. Stephany Harris and our assistant superintendent Dr. Stacy Linn through the expo center ⭐️

Congratulations to Delainey Haddix for getting a call back for Extemporaneous Speaking! She is one of the top four in the State! She’ll compete again tomorrow in the finals for this competition 🌟

Members then went to opening session and listened to three of the Kentucky State Officers speak. We ended our day by enjoying a meal and games at main event! 🎮🎳

State Convention started today for our former President, Delainey Haddix

She arrived in Lexington earlier today to start the interview process for State Officer Candidate. Please help us wish Delainey good luck over the next few days!
