🎉 Please Help Us Welcome Our New Brown County Early Learning Center Director! 🎉

We are excited to announce that Vicki Anderson has been selected as the next Director of the Brown County Early Learning Center!

Vicki brings more than 25 years of experience in early childhood education and has been an important part of our center since it opened in 2020. Having served in several roles, most recently as Assistant Director, she knows our children, families, staff, and programs exceptionally well.

Born and raised in Rushville, Illinois, Vicki earned her Bachelor's Degree from Quincy University and has continued to invest in her education through advanced studies in Early Childhood Administration. Her experience, leadership, and passion for early childhood education make her the perfect fit to lead our center into the future.

Vicki will begin transitioning into her new role over the next couple of weeks before officially taking over as Director around July 21st. We are confident she will continue to build on the caring, nurturing environment that makes the Brown County Early Learning Center so special.

Please join us in congratulating Vicki and wishing her the very best as she begins this exciting new chapter! 💙💛

THIS is why we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week at Early Learning Centers: because Early Childhood Educators ARE professional educators. 🤍

Play-based learning is so much more than keeping children busy. It is the foundation for how children learn to think, create, connect, problem solve, communicate, and understand the world around them.

Behind every messy paint project, every bubble chase, every big toddler emotion, every story time, every wagon ride, every cuddle, every conflict resolved, and every moment of discovery, there is a teacher, assistant teacher, or staff member intentionally nurturing the hearts and souls of children.

Early childhood educators are helping children build confidence, emotional safety, independence, curiosity, empathy, resilience, and joy. They are creating environments where children feel safe enough to explore, brave enough to try, and loved enough to grow.

This work is beautiful, meaningful, exhausting, emotional, chaotic, and incredibly important. In our opinion ECE professionals are some of the most important people on this planet. What other profession gets to help shape the lives and minds of our earliest community members?

To our staff: thank you for showing up day after day with patience, creativity, compassion, and care. Thank you for loving children through hard moments, celebrating little victories, and helping create the kind of childhood every child deserves. Your dedication is never unnoticed.

And to our families: thank you. Thank you for trusting us with your babies, for partnering with us, and for the incredible love and appreciation you poured into our staff this week. Your kindness, encouragement, notes, donations, treats, and support meant more than you know.

We are endlessly grateful for this village. 🤍

We are incredibly grateful to the Brown County IL UW for their continued support of The Brown County Early Learning Center and the children and families we serve! 💚

Because of this generous funding, we will be able to expand sensory support tools throughout our classrooms to better support emotional regulation, developmental needs, and inclusive learning environments for all students. From calming spaces and flexible sensory materials to tools that help children feel safe, supported, and ready to learn, these resources will make a meaningful impact in the daily lives of our little learners.

We are so incredibly blessed to live in a community that values the next generation of Brown County community members. Thank you for believing in our children, our educators, and the importance of creating environments where every child can grow, thrive, and feel successful.

We are proud to partner with organizations that continue to invest in the future of our community! 💚

🌼 Blooming with Gratitude 🌼

There’s a special kind of magic in the people who can step into any classroom and instantly make it feel calm, supported, and cared for. Our Float Assistant Teachers do exactly that, meeting children where they are, jumping in where they’re needed, and helping every room run just a little smoother.

They may not always have one classroom to call their own, but their impact is felt everywhere. From comforting little ones, to supporting teachers, to building meaningful connections across our center. They are a steady, caring presence our children (and staff!) rely on every day.

As we continue our preparations for celebrating Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week (May 4th–8th), today we’re shining a light on some of our incredible Float Assistant Teachers, the ones who quietly hold so much together behind the scenes. 💛

If your child has ever been cared for by one of these amazing women, we’d love for you to share a kind word or memory below! Your appreciation truly means the world. ✨

🌼 Blooming with Gratitude 🌼

There’s something really special about the teachers and assistant teachers who help guide our oldest, little learners before they take their next big steps. Our PreK team brings patience, encouragement, and just the right balance of structure and fun to help children grow in confidence every single day.

Alongside them, our float staff step in wherever they’re needed most. Supporting classrooms, building connections, and helping keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. Their flexibility and heart make a bigger impact than most people ever see.

As we continue the countdown to Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week (May 4th–8th), we’re so excited to highlight our PreK teachers and assistant teachers and one of our amazing floats who help make our center feel like home. 💛

If your child has been part of one of these classrooms, we’d love for you to share a kind word or memory below! Your appreciation means more than you know! ✨

🌼 Blooming with Gratitude 🌼

There’s something powerful about the people who keep our days running. Those who care for our children, support our classrooms, and make sure every detail behind the scenes is taken care of. It takes patience, flexibility, and a whole lot of heart, as well as a huge amount of emotional intelligence.

As we continue counting down to Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week (May 4th–8th), we’re celebrating more of the incredible individuals who help make our center what it is. 💛

Today, we’re shining a light on our Two-Year-Old Teachers, one of our Floats, and our Chef! The ones who manage big emotions, busy bodies, constant transitions, and still show up every single day with care and consistency.

From guiding growing independence, to stepping in wherever needed, to making sure our children are fed and cared for, they each play a vital role in creating a safe, loving environment where kids can truly thrive.

They may all serve in different ways, but together, they help hold the heart of our center. ✨

If your child has been impacted by any of these amazing staff members, take a moment to share a little appreciation below. Your words matter more than you know. 💬💛
