MY COMMUNITY STEPPED RIGHT UP!

This week, for the first time since The Front Porch Ministries (TFPM) opened, we used EVERY BLUE BIN!

As I reached for the last one on Thursday, I stopped for a moment and thought about where those bins came from. That thought humbled me.

There was a time when TFPM was overwhelmed with donated food and other items, and I simply did not have enough places to put or store everything. I saw these blue bins online and mentioned that we could really use them.

MY MOUNT RAINIER COMMUNITY STEPPED RIGHT UP!

Neighbors purchased them. Neighbors delivered them. One by one, those blue bins showed up at my door.

A few orange ones came. A black one came. A gray one came. We appreciate and use every one of them. But those BLUE BINS made the difference!

And this week, every single blue bin was put to work. Our donors provided the food and other items, and our volunteers sorted, organized, packed, and filled those bins, preparing everything to be shared with people who needed or could use it.

That is how TFPM works. Donors give. Volunteers serve. The community responds. And together, we help our neighbors.

To everyone who gives, volunteers, purchases what we need, delivers it, or otherwise helps TFPM continue serving:

No one person does this work alone. It takes a community, and I am deeply grateful for mine.

ALERT!

Well, The Front Porch Ministries (TFPM) had an awesome run the past few days -- fans, food, lots of new clothes!

There are no fans left, but there is still clothing and food out there!

PLEASE make sure you close all of the bins correctly, and LOOK in the two refrigerators on your left when facing my door for the Starbucks sandwiches. I am having one of those for dinner, NO

THANK YOU TO ALL OF THE DONORS who dropped off items to The Front Porch Ministries (TFPM) yesterday. You made many residents happy.

Mount Rainier residents, there are about seventeen (1) fans left—only one large fan. The rest are window/box fans.

There is also quite a bit of Starbucks left. Look in the refrigerators for those items.

There are also apples, cabbages, Cauliflowers, eggplants, cucumbers, and a few other items still out there.

CLOTHES -- ALL NEW

Lots of clothes items (socks, panties, boxer shorts, tights, stockings, and more) for preemies, infants, adolescents, women, and men are available. We spent a lot of time sorting through the items yesterday, but they are all mixed up again today.

I may not be outside when you arrive. PLEASE take ONLY ONE FAN PER CAR or HOUSEHOLD. Lots of residents are struggling with the heat, so keep that in mind.

Clothing: take what you need and can use.

The school year has started; if you do not have your child's bookbag already, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I chose not to do school supplies on a large scale because so many others are doing that these days.

Thank you Karen Simmons, Toni George, Desiree DuBois, Eriyana Miles Barnes, and everyone else who helped me get through all of yesterday's overwhelming donations. You are rock stars.

Good afternoon! The Front Porch Ministries (TFPM) has been blessed all day LONG!

We have more fans.

We Have Corn, eggplants, cabbages, cucumbers, and more ready for pick,

We also have an ASSORTMENT OF NEW CLOTHES FOR MEN, WOMEN, CHILDREN, and INFANTS. The clothes require you to go through them and pick out what you want.

EVERYTHING will be available until gone.

GOOD MORNING!

The Front Porch Ministries (TFPM) is being blessed today with some more FANS! If you did NOT GET A FAN during the previous giveaway, PLEASE come at 11:00 a.m. to pick up a fan. ONLY ONE FAN PER HOUSEHOLD OR PER CAR. NO EXCEPTIONS!

There are seventeen (17) fans available, with the tenants in the Artist Lofts receiving first priority on the fans today. Most of them are WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING, and with the building in bankruptcy court, there is no one to supply them with cooling fans.

There are also some diapers (small sizes) and some adult diapers and pull-ups (medium).

There may be some other items coming that will be on The Front Porch (TFPM) when you arrive.
