What a wonderful day we had today!

We are so grateful to everyone who stopped by our PTO table after orientation.

It was amazing to connect with so many families, share warm conversations, and see the kids having a blast creating their custom keychains and necklaces 💖

A special thank you to our amazing teachers and staff for welcoming us with open arms and sharing lunch with us!

The food was absolutely delicious, but the best part was getting to celebrate and build community together 🎨🥪

We’re so excited to launch into this new school year with such a supportive community.

¡Qué día tan maravilloso pasamos hoy!

Estamos profundamente agradecidos con todos los que pasaron por la mesa del PTO después de la orientación.

Fue increíble conectar con tantas familias, sentir esa cercanía y ver a los niños disfrutar al máximo creando sus llaveros y collares 💖

¡Un agradecimiento muy especial a nuestros increíbles maestros y personal por recibirnos con tanto cariño y compartir el almuerzo con nosotros!

La comida estuvo deliciosa, pero lo mejor fue poder compartir y construir comunidad juntos 🎨🥪

Nos emociona muchísimo comenzar este nuevo año escolar con una comunidad tan unida.

¡Bienvenidos de nuevo, familia MRES! Mañana es el primer día oficial de clases, ¡vamos con todo! 🎒✏️

Cottage City Day did not disappoint! 🎉

Yesterday our community came together to celebrate and we were right there with them.

The kids had a blast, families connected, and the MRES eagle showed up! 🦅

This is exactly why we do what we do building community beyond the school walls.

School is right around the corner! Here is what's coming up next week at Mt. Rainier Elementary:

Monday, Aug 24:
8:30 AM – 9:30 AM: Pre-K, Kindergarten & New Student Orientation

9:30 AM – 10:00 AM: Sneak a Peek at Your Seat (Returning Eagles!)

Tuesday, Aug 25:
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! School begins promptly at 7:30 AM.

We can’t wait to see you all the monday ✨

There are things about your child's school that nobody sits you down to explain and you deserve to know them 👇

📞 Free translation & interpretation services

If English isn't your first language, PGCPS is required by law to provide free interpreters for parent-teacher conferences, meetings, and school events.
Just ask your child's school to request one, they are required to help you.

📋 Free learning evaluations

If you feel your child is struggling academically, you have the right to request a free evaluation. This can lead to additional support like an IEP or 504 Plan services designed to help your child succeed at school.
→ Ask your child's teacher or go directly to the school's front office to request one.

💡 You don't have to figure this out alone.

These are your rights as a parent don't hesitate to use them.
