We are proud to introduce a new feature on our social media channels: Welcome Wednesday! Over the next few weeks, we’ll be showcasing the new teachers and staff joining our district family.

To kick things off, help us welcome Ms. Emily Zwijack, the new Orchestra Director at River Trails Middle School!

Ms. Zwijack brings 8 years of teaching experience and holds degrees in both Music Education and Violin Performance. Known by her colleagues as organized, dedicated, and funny, she is most excited to collaborate with staff and inspire a love of learning and music in her students.

Fun fact: She is also a figure skating coach and can play her violin while spinning and jumping on the ice! ⛸️🎶

Welcome back, team! 🍎✨ We kicked off the new school year with two incredible Institute Days, catching up, gearing up, and celebrating the amazing educators and staff who make our schools shine.

We are so ready to welcome our learners back this week! Here is our kickoff schedule:

Wednesday (Tomorrow): First Day of School for 1st–8th Grade Students , two hour early dismissal

Thursday: First Day of School for Kindergarten Students, NO EARLY DISMISSAL

Friday: First Day of School for Pre-K Students

Our Fall menus for breakfast, lunch, and Pre-K snacks are officially available online! You can view the full menus anytime on the District Food Services website: https://www.rtsd26.org/departments/food-services/lunch-menus

Both breakfast and lunch include daily core items—fresh fruits, vegetables, milk choices, and daily entrees—alongside a featured entrée that rotates on a cycle menu.

Important Note for the First Week:
Due to our shortened first week and the early release on the first day, we will be running a modified menu for August 19–21.

Please join us in celebrating Alexis Drennen as she moves from 4th grade to become our newest 2nd Grade Teacher at Indian Grove School!
