We hope that you are enjoying a wonderful Labor Day! We are in the middle of migration. Have you seen any common nighthawks?

You're more likely to hear than see a Common Nighthawk, but getting to know these elusive nocturnal species is well worth the effort and can add a touch of avian mystery in your life. Learn how from Audubon magazine at the link in comments.

🌳🦆Techny Basin in Glenview is one of Alyse’s favorite birding hotspots. The view of the basin from the trail is outstanding!

This is an excellent spot to shorebirds and waterfowl amongst many others.

The trail is paved and easy to navigate. A number of various habitats make this quite a haven.

We spotted a black-crowned night heron on a recent visit!

Black-crowned night heron and muskrat spotted together at one of Alyse’s favorite birding hot spots yesterday — Techny Basin! More on this amazing but under-the-radar spot soon!
