This year has been a year of heartache and profound grief. I have had to say goodbye to not one, but three precious dogs—my sweet Lili, who was with me for 17 years; Rose, who we only had the joy of knowing for 6 short years; and just yesterday, my Sofi, who blessed my life for 14 years. Losing each of them has been a unique and devastating experience, leaving a void that words alone cannot fill.

For anyone who has experienced the loss of a pet, you know this grief is real and profound. Pets are not just animals; they are family, confidants, and a source of unconditional love and joy.

When they leave us, it can feel as if we’ve lost a part of ourselves. Lili, Rose, and Sofi were each unique souls, each with their own quirks, rhythms, and personalities that I grew to love and rely upon daily. Losing them isn’t just about the end of their physical presence but also the routines, the rituals, and the companionship that they brought into my life.
