The numbers don't lie! The Michigan AHEC Scholars Program makes a difference in the lives of our participants. Here are a few responses from the Michigan AHEC at Wayne State University 2025 program completers.

* 100% of students felt confident to utilize the skills gained in the AHEC Scholars Program to provide healthcare to medically underserved communities 🩺

*86% of students feel confident to advocate for the healthcare needs of a community based on current policy trends

* 90% of students feel confident in using common public health methods that prevent or address health issues in vulnerable populations 🙌

On this Where Are They Wednesday, we celebrate Dr. Payton Wolbert! Congratulations on your Emergency Medicine Residency placement with Henry Ford Hospital!

Payton served as an undergratudate college mentor, medical student facilitator, and instructor for a variety of health career exploration programming in Mt. Pleasant and Saginaw. We will miss your presence at these many events, Dr. Wolbert, but look forward to having you back in new ways to share your ongoing medical experiences! Congratulations, Dr. Will Ballew on your General Surgery Residency placement with Detroit Medical Center!!
