Operating as usual
We will never forget 9/11. This day had such a huge impact on us, our nation, and the world as we knew it. Please take a moment to honor those who so bravely gave their lives and their families who they left behind. I’m reposting this quote below that I posted last year. I think it is a helpful reminder every day!
Thank you Marianne Stavale Benkoski for your beautiful words!
“Eighteen years ago tonight, thousands of people in the country went to bed with their loved ones for the last time. Some were excited, looking forward to the trip they would be taking in the morning. Others were perhaps dreading the usual commute to work. How many of them rushed the following morning? How many didn’t make the time to kiss their kids or spouse? They mumbled a quick goodbye and headed out the door... not knowing it would be the last time they would see their loved ones. Tomorrow is promised to no one. Take nothing or no one for granted. Tell him or her you love them. Forget the diet and eat the cookie. Stay up late. Do what you have always talked about doing. Apologize, even if it wasn’t entirely your fault. Laugh. Cry. Scream. Go for a walk. Find shapes in the clouds. Play in the rain, splash in the puddles. Do something nice for someone, and let them do something nice for you. Stop waiting for things to happen, make them happen. Enjoy each and every minute, everyday, every moment in this .. your life’s journey. While your at it, help someone else enjoy their life as well.....”
We are excited to announce that Carolina Park Academy will be offering a Kindergarten program! If the idea of plexiglass partitions, kindergartners wearing masks all day, and/or spending all day in front of a computer is not for you, we are offering a safe and nurturing alternative atmosphere. We are limiting the class size to 12 students. Please comment below with your email address if you would like more details!
We are so proud to offer Music Together as part of our curriculum! Music Together, a pioneer in music education in schools, includes award-winning music and developmentally appropriate activities. The NAEYC-approved program aligns with key components of The Creative Curriculum, including the belief that discovery and exploration are integral to learning.
Our very own Mr. Matt, a graduate of Berklee College of Music, is our trained in school specialist and it’s debatable who is having more fun….him or the children! The footage in this video is from last year, so we have a few guidelines in place due to COVID, but we still manage to make it fun for everyone!
We are excited to announce the new semester (The “Purple Collection”) materials are on their way! Every enrolled family will receive a songbook, CD, and digital download card. We encourage you to sing along at home or in the car! LET THE MUSIC PLAY!

Sesame Street is joining CNN this Saturday for a Town Hall to help kids and families discuss racism and the protests taking place nationwide, build empathy, and embrace diversity. Watch the hour-long special this Saturday June 6 at 10 am ET. #CNNSesameStreet
We stand in solidarity with the Black Community in this time of sadness, loss, and civil unrest. Racism has never, and will never, be tolerated at Carolina Park Academy. However, “it is not enough to be quietly non-racist. We must be vocally anti-racist”.
As early educators, we have the gift and responsibility of shaping the hearts and minds of young children and the future that lies ahead for them. We have always valued diversity and inclusiveness, but we can do more. We are committed to listening, learning, and taking action.
Change starts with us. We will use our voice to do more, to do better, and to build a unified and inclusive future for all.

It's Tasty Tuesday 😋 and Chef Aimee has shared a way to turn snack time into fun time!
From Chef Aimee...
"For an extra fun snack time turn your fruits and veggies into cute springtime bugs. A tip for younger kids - Peel the backside of celery stalks to get rid of the hard to eat strings"
[04/13/20] We hope everyone is safe at home during these storms! We are going to delay our Makin' Music with Mr. Matt until the severe weather passes. We will reschedule for 11:00am today. Be safe everyone!
From Chef Aimee:
Are your kids snacking all day long like mine are? I like to make graze platters to give a variety of options to eat throughout the day. A mix of fruit, veggies and protein. Always offering a few favorites alongside never before tried options. Today's platter had olives, munster cheese, pepperoni, blood oranges, banana chips, cucumbers, carrots, sugar snap peas, bread and butter pickles, blue cheese dip, blueberries and okra chips.
A CPA favorite from Chef Aimee:
Super easy DIY pizzas! Easily the most favored lunch at CPA. All you need is pita or flat bread, marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, and your favorite toppings. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Enjoy! 😋
Makin' Music With Mr. Matt is going LIVE this Friday, April 10th @ 10:00am!
