Jerry “Mike” Charlton attended MPHS with us several years as a classmate and friend. Sadly, he passed away, July 15, 2026, at his home. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. A “Celebration of Life” will be held at Harrison Funeral Home, at 10:00 a.m., on July 31st, in Naples, Tx, for those who would like to attend.

It has been mentioned by several, at different times, that it would be nice to set up a Class of 1977 flower fund. After speaking with Kelly Redfearn Faulkner, there are classes from MPHS, who have established accounts to send flowers when a classmate has passed. The way this will work is if you would like to contribute to the fund, you will contact Mills Flowers. You can do this by calling the shop at 903-572-3951 and give them a specified amount to be billed on your credit card (any amount will help build the fund). Or, you can write a check to Mills Flowers and Gifts, with a memo “for the Class of 1977,” with your donation. You will send checks to:

Easels start at 150.00. Other classes have sent those, and then they have sent plants to classmates who were temporarily members of the class but did not complete the full 12 years. That is an option we can consider. A fund was started today, so if you would like to contribute now, we could send ASAP. I know at this time in our journeys, we are losing more and more classmates. Hopefully, this will give those who want to honor their memories in some way an opportunity to do so.  Comments and thoughts are welcomed.
