Good Morning Belize!

The sacred corn (maize) has four colors, red, white, yellow and black. Not only does it represent food but it represent us as a people, the different colors of our skin. It also represent the 4 corners or pillars of the universe.
The food of the gods, the food of our Maya people. These 4 varieties of local corn are common in Belize. Families from across the country enjoy almost all meals with some corn tortillas on the side, not forgetting all the rest of the delectable ancient meals which survive to this day.

Little ones learn with their whole bodies. Sensory activities for toddlers (such as testing  focusing on the sense of taste) are a very important part of that whole-body learning.

Sensory play exposes children to many new experiences, textures, and materials. It is calming for many children and also presents children with new language that they might not otherwise experience: rough, smooth, clumpy, brittle

Our preschool scientists have been learning and exploring the ladybug life cycle. The students have the opportunity to observe the ladybug life cycle in the habitat, from eggs to the ladybug. After that they created the graphic of the life cycle, and made ladybugs in art class.

Lowcountry Language Academy's schedule is structured with enough flexible time to grant plenty of spontaneous moments to meet each child's needs. Children have blocks of time indoors/outdoor to learn through STEAM and hands-on learning activities. Materials are carefully picked to complement the lesson plans and to encourage exploration and learning. Our educators nurture the curiosity of our students so they grow in knowledge and confidence in their capabilities.
