The BPA National Leadership Conference was held May 8-12, 2013, in Orlando, FL. Over 5400 students from across the United States participated in over 56 business related contests. Twenty-four Mt. Pleasant High School students from the Mt. Pleasant Area Technical Center AM/PM chapters participated in the competition. There were 13 National Runner-Ups, and 1 National Champion! Mrs. Lockwood and Alicia Boulier have been hard at work organizing tee shirts for the 10th Annual Miles For Miracles Event that takes place beginning with the walk/run tomorrow afternoon at 12:40 PM. The assembly will begin at 1:36 PM

Student volunteers (15 or older) are needed for a disaster drill at Clare Hospital on August 21st, 2013 at 7:00 AM to noon (breakfast and lunch will be provided). Students will also be able to earn volunteer hours from this event. If you have any questions feel free to contact Mrs. Diane Benford in the CTE office @ 775-2200 EXT 20853.

The MPATC/104.3 WCZY/Firstbank Student of the Month for April is Megan Ley! She was nominated by Mrs. Carol Todd for her creative and organized work in Educational Careers. At her home school of Beal City, she is involved in student council, cheerleading, and tutoring. Keep up the great work Megan!

The Culinary Club visited Northwestern Michigan University in Traverse City to see their culinary arts program in action. The Culinary Club also visited North Peak Brewery to see some of the dining in the area.

The MPATC/104.3 WCZY/Firstbank Student of the Month for April is Brian Palmer! He was nominated by Mr. Perry Wiles for his positive attitude and outstanding work ethic in Automotive Technology class. Beyond his commitment towards his CTE program and special projects, he works part time and is a 4-H member. Congratulations, Brian!

Mount Pleasant High School's Business Professionals of America is hosting a Pancake Breakfast in the MPHS Cafeteria this Saturday, April 13th, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., to fundraise for their upcoming national trip to Orlando, Florida. One plate of food, which includes 3 pancakes, 2 sausages, & juice is $5, and All You Can Eat is $8. They are also looking for extra donations to meet their goal of $2000.
