Today we blasted off into space to learn all about the phases of the moon! ππππππππ
A HUGE thank you to Mrs. Hargis, a Math & Science teacher at Cario Middle School, for visiting us and teaching such an awesome hands-on lesson! π§βππ¬ The campers loved discovering why the moon looks different throughout the month, and the best part? We got to use Oreos to model each moon phase, then eat our scientific creations afterward! πͺπ

πβοΈ Coast to Coast Week β Day 5: Californiaβs Kelp Coast! βοΈπ
We wrapped up an incredible Coast to Coast Week by traveling all the way to the Kelp Coast of California! πΏπ¦¦
Our campers spent the day exploring one of the oceanβs most unique ecosystems through hands on STEM activities and creative projects. The younger group designed their very own kelp forests, while our older campers took on the challenge of engineering kelp forest towers, putting their creativity and problem solving skills to the test! πποΈ
We also dove into the fascinating world of tide pools, discovering the amazing creatures that call these coastal habitats home. And of course, we couldnβt learn about kelp forests without talking about one of their most famous residents sea otters! π¦¦π
From building, creating, exploring, and learning, our campers ended the week with curiosity, teamwork, and plenty of smiles. What an amazing journey weβve had traveling from coast to coast across North America this week!
ππβ¨ Next stop: another week of summer adventures at CTKD! β¨ππ

π΄π Day 4 of Coast to Coast Week was full of adventure! π π΄
Today we traveled (without ever leaving camp!) to explore the beautiful Florida and Caribbean coasts. Our campers learned all about amazing mangrove forests and the important role they play in protecting coastlines and providing homes for fish, crabs, birds, and other wildlife. πΏπ¦π
Our campers then put their creativity to work by building their very own mangrove habitat projects, complete with winding roots and the creatures that call these unique ecosystems home!
And of course, no day would be complete without some action packed fun! π₯ We wrapped up the day with an epic Nerf Battle led by Master Torin, where campers ducked behind barriers, strategized with teammates, and had an absolute blast putting their skills to the test.
From exploring coastal ecosystems to friendly Nerf battles, Day 4 was packed with learning, teamwork, and tons of smiles! πβοΈπ

ππ¦ Coast to Coast Week β Day 2! π¦π
Today our campers got a special visit from Ms. Belinda, a biology professor from Trident Technical College, who taught us all about some of the amazing creatures and marine life that call Charleston home!
The campers had an absolute blast learning fun ocean facts, meeting a teensy tiny crab up close, and even getting the chance to gently pet it. Of course, we couldnβt learn about crabs without practicing our best crab walks and crab dances too! π¦π
A huge thank you to Ms. Belinda for sharing her knowledge, answering all of our questions, and helping make learning about our local coastal ecosystem such a fun, hands-on experience.
We are having a shell-tastic time during Coast to Coast Week! ππβ

Rainy weather couldnβt stop the fun today at CTKD! βοΈ
Our Ninjas put their creativity and problem solving skills to the test by making their own origami ninja stars βοΈ and squishy ninja stress balls!
They also tackled exciting STEM challenges, built towering card structures, engineered incredible creations with straws and blocks, and showed off their imagination during free play centers.
When recess gets rained out, we simply bring the fun indoors! πΆ From building and creating to dancing along to some groovy tunes, our campers stayed active, engaged, and smiling all day long.
