CJ Gardner-Johnson contributed $20,000 toward the student-loan debt of a graduate student working with the Buffalo Bills’ athletic-training staff during training camp:

"She helps us on the field, right? Keeps us fresh. She’s only here with us for camp, so why not repay her with respect?"

A New Day at NATA Continues!

Congratulations to David Gallegos, MA, ATC, Cert. MDT, elected by members as NATA's 17th president.

"It has truly been my honor to participate in the election process,” Gallegos said. “Thank you to the NATA Presidential Election Oversight Task Force for their diligent work and to the NATA staff and board for the welcoming support. I truly appreciate the financial support from RMATA to make the process achievable. Most importantly, thank you to my colleague Rob Marshall for being an outstanding teammate. You made the process a wonderful memory in and of itself. I am more than humbled and aware of the significant responsibility. Between now and my term, I will continue to learn from President Duffy and Executive Director Pillman and offer my perspective. I have connected with so many amazing ATs over the last eight months. Thank you and be aware I will be calling on you.”

Gallegos will take office during NATA 2027 next June in New Orleans and serve a three-year term.

This year's election reminded us that leadership can be collaborative, campaigns can be joyful and friendly competition can include shared laughs, matching shirts and genuine respect.

Thank you to Rob Marshall, LAT, ATC, and both candidates for their professionalism, collegiality and willingness to serve.

"I would like to sincerely thank the NATA membership and everyone involved in this election process,” Marshall said. “It has been an incredible privilege to travel across the country, connect with members, and learn more about your goals, challenges, and vision for the future of our profession. Those conversations have been one of the most rewarding parts of this experience.

“I would also like to congratulate David Gallegos on his election and thank him for the collegiality and professionalism he brought to this campaign. It has been a pleasure to share this journey with him.

“This experience has only strengthened my appreciation for our profession and for the remarkable volunteer leaders who dedicate their time and talents to serving others. I remain committed to supporting NATA and working alongside all of you as we continue moving our profession forward because we truly are Better Together.”
