Can someone send me the yearbook email?
Help please :) How do I order the lobster t-shirt? I'm looking in the membership toolkit website but don't see them.
Can anyone remind me how to load funds into lunch account? I haven't don't it since last year. I've searched PTA website and ccsd portal, but not finding it.
Dear neighbors young and old😉, Will you bike and walk with us TONIGHT! Let’s stand up as a community for our BHE kids to have the right to attend their local, neighborhood high school - Lucy Beckham. This is a big deal for everyone! We need you! Here are the latest details: Bike 🚲 / Walk to Beckham Rally TONIGHT Wear red, make signs, & 🎈balloons but most importantly show up!! Plan to meet or converge at Seacoast/Whipple Road parking lot by 6:20. The goal is to be at LBHS around 6:30ish! If we aren’t zoned LBHS, we will be one of the furthest neighborhood from Wando - a 25 minute unsafe commute for young drivers that will only worsen with time. Please show up for our kids. BHE to LBHS Educate Local!!
Or this!
Maybe a deserving BHE teacher could win this!
The BHE garden club is one of the most fun ways to get involved with the kids. I had the best time yesterday Thank you for running a great program.
Sharing: We need your help! Please send an email ASAP to the D2 school board on behalf of our Belle Hall Elementary zoned families and neighborhoods. (details below) It may seem obvious that we should be zoned for Beckham, but this is not the case. The D2 board needs to hear from Belle Hall area families. Feel free to use the template below and insert your own reasons or several bullet points. (Subject line: Belle Hall zone to Beckham) Dear D2 Board Members, I am a resident in the Belle Hall Elementary zone, and I believe that our neighborhoods should be zoned for Lucy Beckham High School. With the many factors to consider in the zoning process, proximity and accessibility should be the most heavily weighed. A few of the many reasons the Belle Hall zone should attend Beckham: (insert personal reasons or several bullet points) Thank you for your service to our district. Sincerely, EMAIL ADDRESSES below - copy and paste [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; POSSIBLE TALKING POINTS: • Proximity to school • No major highway to cross • Ability to bike/walk • Failing Long Point Road- the alternative of driving down Whipple to access Wando would literally send students past one high school to get to the other • Added traffic on LPR and 17 • Added traffic to 17 and Mathis Ferry • No growth in BHE area- stability • Strong diversity within BHE zone- create equitability in access to school and activities by going to the neighborhood school. Easier access equals more involvement which equals stronger diverse school community • The proximity of BHE zone kids to LBHS allows for participating in after-school activities that otherwise they wouldn't be able to participate in • Speak to drive times, not mileage **Sarah Johnson (D2 board) has said that Map C "lays the groundwork for Split Feeder pattern" repeatedly in emails and in meetings. Split Feeder is the only way BHE students can be zoned for Beckham due to the recent Moultrie zoning results.**
If anyone is interested or knows someone who is... There is now a meet up group for parents raising exceptional children in a conventional world! Parents of kids on the spectrum or who are dealing with spectrum-type symptoms like SPD, ADHD, 2e, OCD, etc. This is a parent only group. The book we are reading is called "Differently Wired" by Deborah Reber and the meet-up group founded by the author is called Tilt Parenting ("Charleston" as there are chapters all over the USA). We meet once a month at locations all over Charleston. No book necessary but it's a great, uplifting, "me too" type book. https://www.facebook.com/events/623292451463438/
This letter...makes me proud that our school and PTA are part of the solution for our community by putting interventionists at the top of the funding priority list. Your PTA dollars at work!
where are the teacher's favorite's?
FYI for all our wonderful teachers!!!!!

🌱Even in January the BHE Garden produces! Last week 5th grade dug up the sunchokes, and after some work today, Garden Club had a taste of “Sunchoke au Gratin”. If you don’t know what sunchokes (or Jerusalem artichokes) are, they are the starchy tubers of the sunchoke plant and can be a yummy substitute for potatoes in recipes.🌱

Winner, Winner, Raffle Dinner!

Thanks to BHE PTA family donations (and our lovely Coordinator Meredith Jenkinson), ten staff members won a free delicious lunch today from Verde Salads and Wraps.

Congratulations to the following: Loveland, Bernard, Hymans, Nuttall, Snell, Ross, Sherry, Borders, Crawford and Dodd.

It was such a hit! More of these opportunities to spoil our amazing staff are on the horizon.

FANTABULOUS FRIDAY IS TOMORROW (1/24)!

This month's donations will go to World Wildlife Fund to help save animals affected by the Australian bushfires.

Students may donate $1 (or more!) and participate in a non-uniform day...instead, get ready to say "Aloha" in your Hawaiian Luau attire.

Belle Hall students ARE KIND and MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD!!

BHE Spring Tennis is starting soon!

Our school is hoping to have enough players for a team at each level of elementary school tennis (red, orange, green). The cost per child is $60, which covers 6 team clinics with a Mount Pleasant Rec Tennis Pro, team shirts, team registration fees, and balls for each match.

Practices begin February 22. Matches will start at the beginning of March and will run until the beginning of May.

Sign-up forms (with additional details) will be sent home with students next week and are due back no later than February 3. Once rosters are complete, practice and match schedules will be circulated to families.

This is going to be a great experience for BHE students!

[01/16/20]   Don't Forget: Early Release Day Tomorrow! Dismissal is at 12:25 pm. School is closed Monday (1/20) in observance of MLK Day. See you back at school on Tuesday, January 21. Enjoy your long weekend!

🌱 Garden Club had their first meeting of 2020 today! The students spent their time tidying up the garden by doing some weed prevention (cardboard and mulch) around the pollinator gardens. Then 3rd and 5th grades did a little treasure hunting and dug up the peanuts and sun chokes - we got quite the haul! There will be a Garden-to-Picnic Table day next week for sure. 🌱

Garden Club is in need of parent volunteers. Please consider spending a day outside in the garden with the kids - they love it and it’s fun! No gardening experience needed. Here’s a link to the sign up:
