The Master of Science in Administration degree is an interdisciplinary program that was developed in the early 1970's to meet the educational needs and interests of administrators in both the public and nonprofit sectors. The primary focus of the degree program is applied action grounded in theory. The principal elements of this degree are knowledge, competencies, and practical processes needed fo
r successful careers in administration. As it is an interdisciplinary program, faculty are drawn from many departments. The on-campus MSA program has approximately 200 students, both full and part-time. Many of the full-time students are international and come from a variety of countries including China, India, Russia, Ghana, Thailand, Taiwan, Venezuela, Chile, Turkey, and Nigeria. In addition, there are approximately 4,000 students taking classes through Off-Campus Programs. The MSA Director has academic oversight of both on-campus and off-campus MSA programs. The MSA Program provides flexibility by offering a number of concentrations from which students can choose. All students are required to take an administrative core of courses (18 hours.)
