So much action in the EHS building last week. Cohort 30 finished EDL800: Qualitative Research Design with Dr. Johnson on Wednesday as part of their second and final in-person cohort experience.

In addition to digging into all things qual, they were joined by Drs. Alex Kappus and Kevin Carmody who shared their dissertation processes and offered lots of wisdom.

While in Mount Pleasant, they completed participant observations at the Beal City school board meeting and casino trivia night!

As we're welcoming new doctoral students and supporting those already on their journey, this is a great free opportunity to sharpen your APA skills.

Heartful Editor (our favorite APA resource) is offering free 2-hour webinars on APA Style (7th Edition) throughout the Fall 2026 semester. The sessions cover the essentials of APA formatting, citations, references, writing style, tables and figures, bias-free language, and practical editing strategies for course papers, dissertations, and manuscripts. All things you need to learn while in the program!

The same webinar is offered multiple times between August 26 and December 16, so you only need to register for one session. Attendance is free, but registration is required, and sessions can fill quickly.

Participants also receive a certificate of completion.
