Check out this koozie. I was 4 so I’m Pretty sure it’s not mine. I ended up with this over a decade ago. I can’t keep up with my ear rings but I can keep up with a koozie from 1983....
The struggle is real for our senior athletes as they share their heartfelt concerns while in isolation. The common thread among their writings is the same....what if it was all in vain? All the work, blood, sweat and tears goes unfulfilled as many were in the valley of hope as they sifted college prospects and planned their future. Some had goals to achieve in order to get to the next level while others missed state championships and the recognition of a job well done from all the years of going til 8 or 10pm night after night for 12 years. The missed opportunity to thank their friends in the huddle, holding a trophy while joyfully in tears knowing it was the end. While this message speaks directly to our student athletes it is true of each of our kids we teach at Wando High School. There is a clip in a video I encouraged my student athletes to watch called “The Death Crawl scene from Facing the Giants”....as they are still in the race and have to learn to dig in and keep going. It will be one of the single best lessons of perseverance all of us will learn through this experience in 2020. While the stay at home policy has been a blessing for some it certainly has not been seen that way for others in this valley. If you teach an athlete or coach one or have a child that is one— you know that “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.”- Aristotle Peace to All, MB
Hello, I am a photographer at The Post and Courier and working on a story about proms in the area. I am wondering if anyone knows or has kids still dressing up for their 'own" prom or anything of that matter? Please feel free to DM me, stay safe y'all!
Who is the principal?
I know that CCSD and Wando are working on a virtual graduation, but thought I’d share this creative idea from a friend. About to throw out an idea that will either be brilliant or a dud. All the post about Seniors missing graduation, calls for creative ways to honor this life milestone for them. So here goes. . . . . WHAT IF. . . . what if a local golf course were to donate their course for a portion of the day. Parents (only) would be allowed to bring chairs and sit along the cart path, 10 ft away from path and each other. Seniors would ride the cart path, with name signs attached to the golf carts, while parents cheered then on. Once they arrive at a certain hole, they would recieve their diploma. The staff could form a receiving line, very spaced out, on the way back to their cars. . . .waving signs of congratulations, noise makers and all. Spacing out the carts would allow for them to recycle for a continuous run of carts forming the grad parade. It would all be outside ✔ there's room to space everyone out. ✔and graduates still get to "walk"✔ A photographer could capture for the entire class and families would have keepsakes. It would take some planning and timing, but I really think it could work. It isn't ideal, but a nice alternative. I also think parents and seniors would be so thankful such efforts were being made, requests and expectations would be followed. If the crowds were limited and the space provided, to seperate everyone, it may follow the social distancing expectation.
Any idea who the next Wando Head Football Coach is going to be since Call was hired by Oceanside?

A message to our Wando High School Teachers from the Class of 2021! ❤
Just checking in, if by chance school cannot be back in session, does anyone know if alternate arrangements are being made for yearbooks, prom, graduation in summer? It would put a lot of seniors at ease knowing that alternate arrangements are being made.
Not sure if this is the right place to post but wondering why teachers aren’t holding classes virtually at the same timeframe the actual class is typically held via zoom or other platform. This is actually being done in other states. I feel like kids are being given heavy workloads of assignments and teachers aren’t instructing them 🤷‍♀️Seems this would help with giving the kids structure and help to set them up for success. I know we are still getting used to the new normal but this working mom needs guidance🙈

Hey ya'll here are some tips about how to succeed with SCHOOL @ HOME during the Covid -19 pandemic.

Jacob Neale is our #wandowarrioroftheweek “To me, the one thing I think of when I imagine Wando is opportunity. Being at Wando has truly changed me. Coming here four years ago, I could never have imagined being able to do as much as I have done. The opportunities at this school have given me teams to be a part of, clubs to take part in, and friends that will last a lifetime. Being involved in the school has given me the best four years possible and has prepared me to take on a college life!” #thisiswando
