8TH GRADE PARENTS!!
On Wednesday, October 14th, Cario will be administering the PSAT/NMSQT to participating 8th graders (make-up testing will be 10/21). This test is completely optional and will have no impact on your student's academics for this school year. PARENT CONSENT AND PAYMENTS IS REQUIRED.
The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) measures what students learn in school, determines if students are on track for college success, and opens doors for opportunities to prepare and pay for college. For students in grade 8, scores are used for SC Junior Scholar Program qualification. Although not a required assessment, these results provide data for the AP Potential system as well as potential SAT scores. Testing will be administered during the school day and is digital/online and timed.
The fee to take the PSAT/NMSQT is $18.
Please fill out THIS CONSENT FORM NO LATER than next FRIDAY, AUGUST 21st.

IEP/504: If your child receives standardized testing accommodations as part of his/her IEP/504, parent consent is required to submit a request for accommodations. Some parents choose to waive their child's accommodations in 8th grade to allow him/her the general testing experience/exposure and to get a better idea of what accommodations may be needed in high school. *Please note that the PSAT/NMSQT is a timed test that takes approximately 3 hours. If your child receives extended time as an accommodation, this could mean your child will be testing for several hours.
