Wellspring Literary Series

Wellspring Literary Series The Wellspring Literary Series features monthly readings by prominent Michigan writers and poets. Readings are held at the Art Reach Center of Mid-Michigan.

Robert Fanning, CMU Associate Professor and poet, started the series in 2009 and serves as its host. Each reading features a visiting writer, along with a reading by a student from the Central Michigan University Creative Writing community and a performance by a local singer/songwriter or a performer from the CMU School of Music. Complimentary delicious refreshments are provided by Max and Emily's Restaurant. All readings are free and open to the public.

Season 14 of the Wellspring Literary Series closed tonight with poised and poignant readings by 5 graduating students of the CMU MA in Creative Writing program: Sophia Stevens, Kaylee Ni, Charles Morris, Hope Hoffman, and Megan Monroe. Musical entertainment was provided by Magdalena Fanning.

Thanks to the standing room only audience who hung on every word and melody! Thanks again to ArtReach for providing a beautiful haven for the series, and to Pisanello’s Pizza for feeding us at every event.

Join us again in October as we kick off Season 15!

What a special evening. Wow. Thanks to the full crowd who came out tonight to hear Jack Ridl, our featured poet, calm the broken world for a spell with his light-filled poems, along with the delightful and absurd poems and stories by CMU MA in Creative Writing student Dominic Tatrai, and the gorgeous tunes by Well Done, Tim, from Midland. It was good human fire tonight—hearts lighting the dark. Come on out again on April 7 for the final Wellspring Literary Series of the year!
