“I don’t have time for breakfast”
I’ve heard that probably more than any other excuse.
You don’t have a time problem.
You have a priority problem.
Here’s an easy fix.
Try it - or don’t.
I know what I’m gonna do…
Apex Predator by Vanguard Barbell
apex predator (n) a predator at the top of a food chain that is not preyed upon by any other animal.
This is my favorite breakfast to make on a training day.
Here’s what you need:
80g oats
150g egg whites
1 whole egg
34g Alpha Nutrition Labs ™ Cinnamon Crunch protein
5g baking powder
75g banana
+ sugar free syrup
Oh…and a waffle maker.
Every exercise in a real program has a job. It’s either loading a pattern or targeting a muscle, in a specific slot, for a specific reason.
Swap it for something that does a different job and you didn’t customize your training. You broke it.
Before you change anything, ask three questions:
What’s the job?
Why this variation?
Why this position in the session?
If your swap keeps all three answers, it’s valid. If it doesn’t, you’re just program hopping in slow motion.
This is how every program inside The 40+ Blueprint is built. Over 40 and done guessing? Comment BLUEPRINT and I’ll send you the details.

43 years old, sitting in a half-unpacked apartment 700 miles from everything familiar, starting law school in a month. Some guys call this a midlife crisis. I call it refusing to coast. The shirt’s not the only thing that made the cut from the old life — the standards came with it.
Here’s what nobody tells you about starting over: the location changes, the circumstances change, the excuses available to you multiply — and none of it matters if the system doesn’t move with you. My alarm goes off at 4 AM. The bike is back. The training split didn’t take a leave of absence because I did something hard. That’s the part most guys get backwards. They think motivation gets them through a big transition. It doesn’t. Motivation died somewhere around box number twelve. What’s left is the plan.
And that’s the whole thing, really. I didn’t wing this move. Every training day, every meal, every work block was mapped before the truck was loaded — because I’ve been doing this long enough to know that the moment life gets chaotic is the exact moment your body starts negotiating with you. A plan removes the negotiation. You don’t decide whether to train at 43. You decided months ago. Today you just show up and execute.
Consistency isn’t sexy. It doesn’t photograph well. It’s the same alarm, the same bar, the same boring meals while everything else in your life is on fire. But it’s the only thing that survives a move, a career change, a decade. I’m in better shape now than I was at 30, and it’s not genetics and it’s not free time — I have less of both. It’s that I stopped treating discipline like a mood and started treating it like infrastructure.
New chapter. Same standards. If you’re waiting for conditions to be perfect before you rebuild your body, I’ve got bad news: mine have never been worse, and I’ve never been better.
Results don’t come overnight.
Results don’t come in a week.
You may not see much in a few weeks…or even a month.
If you’re trying to radically transform your body…commit to the long game.
21 days this…4 weeks that…if you’re buying that BS you get what you pay for.
If you want to lose belly fat…if you want a more defined chest…if you want to build more muscle in your legs…
IT TAKES TIME
If you’re following a program that’s built around YOUR goals - then trust the process. Stay the course. Collect data.
We live in a world built upon immediate gratification. That’s not how this works though.
If you THINK you’re stuck - look at the data.
If you’re…say…43…and you’ve been WANTING to lose body fat for the last 6 years and you just started a new program and you don’t think it’s working - commit to following the plan long enough to have several measurements…progress photos every week…regular weigh ins…routine BF caliper measurements…gather data and THEN you can determine if it’s working or not.
Don’t let your FEELINGS outweigh the FACTS.
Don’t have a plan? I got you. There’s a link in my bio to my Skool community called “The 40+ Blueprint” which is specifically designed for men over 40. It’s all there. Everything you need to get started.
And your first week is $7.
Check it out. It might be exactly what you need.
I built it purely because I needed a system that I could use PERSONALLY.
