Today we had the opportunity to slow down, enjoy some great food and fellowship, and celebrate our staff members with August birthdays!
What made today even more special was the work happening behind the scenes.
Our newly created Hospitality Program took the lead in preparing for todayโs luncheon. Our students helped plan the event, organize the staff food and dessert sign-up, develop a theme, decorate, and make sure everything was ready to create a special experience for our staff.
And this is only the beginning!
Our Hospitality Program is about much more than planning events. We created this program to give students real-world experiences that help prepare them for college, the workforce, and life beyond high school.
Throughout the year, students will have opportunities to grow in areas such as customer service, communication, work ethic, teamwork and collaboration, leadership, organization, problem-solving, time management, professionalism, and entrepreneurship.
These are skills that cannot always be learned from a textbook. Sometimes the best way to learn is to be given a responsibility, work with others, solve problems as they come up, and see the finished product of your hard work.
Today, our students got to do exactly that.
We are incredibly proud of them and the work they put into making today special for our staff. They did a fantastic job, and we are excited to watch this program continue to grow throughout the year!
