There will be an upcoming screening of a documentary called “Hell or High Seas” that will take place in the Stover Theater onboard the USS Yorktown at Patriots Point, on September 16th, from 6-9PM. The film is very moving as it follows a Navy vet’s struggle to sail Cape Horn in order to “calm the storms within”. Taylor struggled with PTSD and had attempted su***de before embarking on an inspirational sailing journey from Pensacola to the Cape, an area which you may know as being extraordinarily treacherous. You can view the trailer here: https://www.hellorhighseas.com/seethefilm

There is limited seating (approximately 250) but we would love to get as many people as possible. Taylor will be in attendance and will hold a Q&A after the screening.

[08/17/21]   Sailing cancelled for tonight! Sorry. Maybe this cancellation will change the weather for you. Bad cell around us with numerous lightning strikes. Supposed to blow around 20 as well and that is above our Tuesday night fun race level. So have a great evening and stay safe.

[08/03/21]   Tuesday night racing cancelled! 😢
Orange system too close on radar.

[06/30/21]   Hi Everyone,

Unfortunately we will be closed for the Fourth of July this coming Sunday. We hope you all have a great holiday weekend and we will see you on the water soon!

What a great night. 10 knot Seabreeze. Most 420s taken along with several Lasers. So many families taking advantage and many are joining the Association! We’re getting the best Opti sailors in the world. And we had lots of the kids back in town from College. U of M, St Mary’s, Citadel, and others getting into the action. Several Alumni were out as well. And even some of our Tuesday night founders. 7 races with no damage and different winners in almost every race. We ended with a 16 way tie for first.
And big news! C of C won the Fowle Trophy again for best overall team in the country and they’ve in our backyard! Congratulations to the team and the coaches.

Great night on the water for Tuesday night racing. We were joined by Will Freund. He’s traveling from Miami to Norfolk to bring attention to climate change. He’s a C of C grad of 2017 and Kevin Jewett allowed him to dock at our docks till the wind direction works. Supposed to clock right today for smooth sailing towards Georgetown today. Happy trails and thanks for his efforts. All available 420s were on the water and plenty of sailors discussed his adventures after racing. Some of us listened over Tacos after getting off the water. Follow is adventure on FB at Climate, Kayak, and Conversation.
