East Cooper Montessori Charter School

Today, our school honors the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country through our Missing Man Table display.
Every item on the table carries meaning — the empty chair, the folded flag, the single rose, the candle, the slice of lemon, and the untouched plate — each serving as a quiet reminder of those who are missing from our gatherings because they gave everything in service to others.

As Memorial Day approaches, we pause to remember that freedom is never free. We are grateful for the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of our fallen service members and the families who continue to carry their memory forward.

May we teach our students not only to celebrate freedom, but also to honor the cost at which it came. 🇺🇸

Travel through time this summer at Charleston County Public Library (CCPL) with the 2026 Endless Eras, Endless Stories Summer Reading Program. In partnership with Charleston County School District (CCSD), this year's program invites readers of all ages to explore new worlds through books, earn prizes along the way, and enjoy special events throughout the summer.
