Welcome to The Ashley Hillson Vocal Studio page! I am a voice teacher based in the Mount Pleasant area who is looking to gain more students with various goals and skill sets. From a young age, I have been singing with industry professionals as my coaches in a wide range of styles and this May, I will be graduating with a B.F.A in Musical Theatre Performance with a hope to teach voice professionally and direct plays and musicals with in the area. In addition to studying with a slew of professors from multiple universities and other industry professionals, I have also been trained in vocal pedagogy, participated in operas, cabarets, and musical theatre shows, am a former member of Central Michigan University’s top choir, The Chamber Singers, the recipient of both several talent based scholarships and perfect scores at MSVMA sponsored events, and a member of both the National Association for Music Educators and the Delta Iota chapter of Delta Omicron. During my adolescence, I was inspired by power house singers such as, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, etc., and it was those singers and their vocals that made me keep pursuing my passion, and although, today, I may not be these individuals carbon copies because of them I found my voice. That being said, whatever your goals are as a singer, and who ever inspires you, I hope to help you with your goals and help you find your voice!
