Today at HBMS we had our first HB18 lesson of the year. Students were divided into house groups and learned about the value of building good habits and developing our Rule #9 be organized and prepared skills. Students learned that being organized and prepared helps create personal ownership in their learning, making that learning more valuable and relevant. House groups are unique because students across 6, 7, and 8th grade learn together and build new friendships and relationships. Students also spent time reviewing our new Bulldog Commitment.

Fridays are district-wide house spirit days. We are so proud when our HBMS students wear their house colors and show their house pride. Great job!

8th grade students completed their first science lab activity of the year. The annual gummy bear lab helps students sharpen their scientific method skills and practice collaborative learning. It is a student favorite at the middle school!

Students and teachers were busy today getting back into the rhythm of school. Students set up binders, reviewed class expectations and received their 2026-2027 planners today. It was a great day!
