MONDAY- Kickstart to Kindergarten comes to Hamersville Elementary & Middle School 🎉

Choose to stop in with your incoming Kindergartener between 2-3pm or between 4:30-6:30pm. This event is open-house style.

Your child will leave with a bag of Kindergarten readiness materials & you'll get to learn more about district offerings! Kona Ice will be available outside for purchase.

If you haven't not completed the Final Forms registration, please follow the steps to start the process.

We're ready for you, incoming MOES Kindergarteners!!!

Plan to come today between 2-3pm or between 4:30-7pm to the big gym at the Mt. Orab Elementary School. Follow the lawn signs and flags to the entry door on the far right side of the building. You'll learn about the district, learn how to register (if you have not started), meet the Kindergarten teachers, and get fun freebies!

We can't wait to see you here!

In April, we celebrate our autistic students, autistic family members, autistic friends, & the greater autism community.

Autism Acceptance Month celebrates and honors the experiences and identities of Autistic individuals. It emphasizes understanding, inclusion, and support, moving beyond awareness towards meaningful acceptance.

We are sharing out a free handout created by The Hanen Centre: "Use OWLing™: Observing, Waiting and Listening.".

If you have an autistic preschool-aged child in your life, by learning to Observe, Wait and Listen™, you can start to notice how that child communicates, what captures their attention, and what becomes possible when they give them a little more time and space to respond.

Try them while you’re driving, cooking, shopping, or playing. Talking, reading, counting, and letting your child help with small tasks all build important skills.

Focus on small, everyday moments: separating from caregivers, using the restroom, zipping coats, taking turns, and communicating needs. Kids grow at their own pace—practice builds confidence, and teachers are ready to support them every step of the way!

Check out these great tips from Ohio Head Start!

Did you know your child’s name will be ALL over their kindergarten classroom? 🏷️ From cubbies and folders to tables and name tags, recognizing their name is a key confidence booster for the first day of school!

To help your little one feel prepared and independent, focus on these three name skills:
👀 Recognize their written name on sight.
🗣️ Name the letters in their name.
✍️ Write their name to the best of their ability (proper grip and effort count more than perfection!).

Make learning fun! Use magnetic letters, trace names in sand, or sing the alphabet song during car rides. Every little bit of practice helps! 📚🍎
