The Tillman School of Business at University of Mount Olive recently coordinated with the Curriculum Technical Education program at Duplin County Schools to hold an on-campus event. Approximately 100 students visited the University’s flight school and attended a lecture presented by Tillman School of Business faculty discussing different business disciplines. They also toured campus, ate lunch in the dining hall, and got to experience a bit of college life. The event provided students an opportunity to hear about different career paths such as aerospace, cybersecurity, applied computer science, finance, marketing, accounting, and management.

Future Business Leaders of America - Collegiate (Zeta Epsilon chapter)

On November 4th and 5th the UMO Future Business Leaders of America - Collegiate (FBLA-C) team went to the annual Fall Leadership Development Conference (FLDC) to network, gain insightful information into the FBLA, and prepare for the State Leadership Conference in Spring 2023. With 8 scholars and an academic advisor, the University of Mount Olive delegation was one of the largest to attend the conference. Reflecting on their first conference experience, Chris Edwards remarked "There was a bunch of wonderful people there to get acquainted with."

In addition to attending the FLDC, the UMO FBLA-C chapter (the Zeta Epsilon chapter) has been very active. During this Fall 2022 semester the Zeta Epsilon members have also participated in membership recruitment, a "thank you notes to veterans" service project, sponsored a Donuts and Coffee Break for the UMO Maintenace Department, held a Halloween Day fundraiser, and hosted a Q&A table to promote American Enterprise Day at which passersby had the opportunity to their choice of chocolate for a correct response to a business enterprise question (photo: Kayla Frazier, President; Christian Chavez-Ramirez; and Joshua Hernandez, Treasurer).

We want to congratulate Nafsika Papavasileiou on her upcoming graduation from The University of Mount Olive. A bit about Nafsika goes as follows: "I am from Greece. I have attended the University of Mount Olive since 2020. I transferred from my former institution my sophomore year of college. I will be graduating this December with a bachelors in Human Resources. During my time at the University of Mount Olive I have been part of the women’s volleyball program. In the future I wish to pursue a career in the Human Resources field and I would like to further my education by obtaining an MBA in a school in North Europe."

The Tillman School of Business is truly proud of our graduates. Nafsika Papavasileiou will be receiving her Bachelors in Human Resources. We look forward to seeing what this incredible Trojan will do in the world!
